Another Day Another Dolla

I've decided to dedicate Sunday as a blog day. I'm never really sure how many people actually read this, but here is an update on the past couple weeks. Al's friend Brayden from San Antonio was here last week and we lived it up on the strip.

We went and saw Mystere at Treasure Island which was so good and ate at a new sushi restaurant called Social House. I would post a picture, but it's not my best shot. We also went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Al loved the part where you can pet the fish. When I finally tore him away half of his sleeve was wet...lol

We ate at the Wynn buffet which was even better than the World buffet at the Rio. They have these amazing floral arrangements when you walk in and all you can eat crab legs.

Here is some of Bits before and after.

Encore just opened, so we went and walked around and discovered the game of War. It's probably the best card game in casinos I've seen so far. Here is a picture of the chandeliers that are amazing.
Al and Bits were planning on going skiing at Mount Charleston on Saturday, but had an even better idea to drive to Utah and ski for the day. Being the amazing wife that I am I let them act like highschool boys and agreed to go. For the third time in 2 months we drove to Utah and pulled up to my moms house around 5am to get a few hours of sleep. They went skiing for the day and I hung out with my Mom and Ryan. We went shopping, got pedicures and manicures, and convinced Ryan that girl jeans made him too skinny.

Later that night we met up with Al's family for dinner and got to see Nikki's new baby Briyler. Congrats to Nikki and Kaj!! Here is a picutre of Ryan holding him.
We decided to go back to my moms and sleep until 3am and get up and drive so Bits wouldn't miss his flight. Ryan and I got a little camera happy.

It was good to go back and see the fam for 24 hours. Hopefully we can stay longer next time.
I have been searching for jobs non stop and had no luck. The unemployment rate here is really high and no one is hiring. Hotels are probably the ones struggling the most. So I don't go completely insane twiddling my thumbs at home Al had take your wife to work day which was so fun. I got to sit in the car while he went in offices and drive around in wheelchairs at his office.
Here is Al at his desk talking about something work related I'm sure.
Yesterday we had free tickets to go see Lance Burtons magic show at the Flamingo. It probably wouldn't have been that good, but Al got called up on stage to wear this ridiculous mask with 3 other guys.

The Flamingo is a pretty happenin hotel. They have people getting massages at the tables, they have the Big Wheel which is up there next to War, and they have Pink Flamingoes outside!!

Feelin Fine in 09'

I thought I would use the colors and fabric of our wedding for our 2009 blog background. Also I'm really tired of looking for jobs online, so this was an excuse for me to take a break.

2009

We stayed in Vegas for New Years Eve and the Bush family came to visit. That included gassy Lyric:) We miss you Lyric.
We went and got sushi before the partying began and it was so yummy. I drank 4 huge diet cokes which gave me a caffeine high for the New Year. We made our way to the strip to watch the amazing firework display which didn't turn out to be so amazing this year. Tonya and Billy made some new friends.
We watched the Bellagio fountains a couple times which never seems to get old.

When the clock struck midnight everyones faces went to the sky and there were no fireworks to be found. I heard some lady say "oh they are shooting them off from the ground this year because of the fire at the Monte Carlo???" Are you serious?? You mean to tell me I just risked my life driving here, walked a mile in this crowd of people and there are no fireworks?? Look at the insanity in this picture and if you look in the distance you can see a cloud of smoke from where they shot off the fireworks. So Lame
We made our way back to the car and went to Club Rain to see Paul Oakenfold. Thanks for getting us on the list Britt!! The show was awesome. The four of us didnt make it until 5am when it usually gets over, but it was fun.

There were some crazy dancers hanging from the ceiling.

I almost forgot the most important highlight of New Years Eve. THE KISS!!

This might be a suprise to everyone, but Im looking for a new job in Las Vegas. No I can't be a cocktail waitress. Let me know if you have any ideas. Happy New Year!!

What Christmas Brought

I must have forgot how I went insane driving to Utah for Thanksgiving, but agreed to drive again for Christmas. Most of you know I have a hard time focusing and a road trip doesn't really help this problem. When we got to SLC it was a blizzard, so we decided to take Ryan and Stacy's dog Brinkley night sledding. We were the only ones in the park.
Brinkley thought the sled was a really big frisbee and everytime we went down the hill he would chase after us.
On Christmas Eve we had dinner with Stacy and her family. Her turkey was amazing, but I wouldn't have expected less. My mom and I used her same recipe for Christmas dinner. Al got initiated into the Ranes family with the famous crocheted stocking by Grandma Ranes. It even says ALBERT!!
Later that night we opened presents with Stacy at the Dearborn Chateau.

Some wore old pajamas and some wore new....
We went to the Ranes and Cameron households Christmas morning. Here is a picture of my moms pretty tree and Ryans homemade Christmas cards which were hilarious.

When we got to the Camerons there was a little snowstorm. Al pulled Coby around the neighborhood on a boogie board. Its good we had a 4 wheel drive truck that Al knew how to drive.

It was so windy and cold. For all you Native Vegas peeps this is a real snowstorm.
I almost forgot to mention my favorite Christmas present....BARBIE. Look at her beautiful blonde hair in the sun. Since I can't buy Christian Louboutins yet I'm hoping to find her some. PS I also loved all my other gifts Albert.
Have I ever mentioned Ryans obsession with minature food and toys?? My mom bought him a mini pool table and I think he liked it more then Rockband 2 for the WII...lol Here is an idea of how mini it is
The next day we had a pleasant suprise when we saw that our car had been plowed in, so my mom had to come get us.

Oops How did Barbie get in there again??

Here is a picture of my mom and I in our twin Chrismas Coats. They are so hot!!
We had plans to go to Cheesecake Factory on Friday night, but when we got there and said a table for 14 they were so kind to let us know it would be a three hour wait. HA ITS CHEESECAKE FACTORY not La Caille. We ended up going to Macaroni Grill across the street. Al and Coby got a yummy Meat Ravioli dish that gave them both a case of you know what. Boo on Macaroni Grill . The only exciting thing was we had them sing Happy Birthday to Trevor.I emptied our stockings today and this is what we ended up with.
While most people will be getting drunk on New Years Eve we will be in Sugar Shock and have gained about 20 pounds. Happy New Years To Us!!
It was great to go home and see everyone. I didn' want to leave. Time seems to go by faster when youre having fun and not working. Here I am again sitting at the computer wondering if anyone is going to read what I'm writing or just scroll thru my pictures and wonder what I'm going to write about next. Maybe my new years resolution will be to cut back on my recently aquired blog.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I'm sure most of you heard it snowed last week in Vegas. After weeks of telling my co workers it doesn't snow in Vegas and they are all crazy, sure enough what happens. The one and only blizzard in Vegas where snow actually stuck to the ground. When I went to lunch it wasn't even sticking to the ground and people were driving 20mph. When I got back to work I sat down at my little desk hoping no one would say "SEE I TOLD YOU IT SNOWS IN VEGAS", but of course they did. I called Al and was like is it really snowing in Vegas? There isn't supposed to be snow on palm trees.

At 3pm it started to look like a Utah snowstorm where it was actually sticking to the ground and I knew I should leave work now because all the Vegas residents would be driving like crazy people and they don't have snow plows. The rumors started spreading and people were like omg its supposed to snow 6ft, all the freeways are closed. It normally takes me 30 minutes to get home from work, but it took me 2 hours. It was almost like driving to Utah which I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. All the fancy sports cars were struggling and all my co workers had to leave their cars at work because they live on a hill and supposedly needed chains...haha Anyway the next morning was sunny and all the red cliffs which they call Mountains were covered in snow. I got to work extra early and no one showed up until noon because the roads were too bad. Oh and all the schools closed. HA I could have slept in. It definately made it feel a little more like Christmas time.

Oh and before Christmas is over I better show some more pictures of our Christmas festivities shared with The Aston family. We went to The Magical Forest and it was amazing. Bonnie and I got to have story time with Mrs. Claus

and then we went on a sleigh ride. Al wanted it to be more. We met the ole lady that lived in a shoe. I've always wondered who she is.

She really liked Al
It really was a magical forest filled with gumdrops and much much more. Merry Christmas to all my blog suscribers!!
