Birthdays, Meat, and So Much More

This past week we decided to fire up the grill we found and discovered it spits fire. Hmmm could that be why it was free?? We decided to go to Lowes at 8pm(only for you Bits) and got a new grill. This is where I can actually get Al to cook. He is so amazing with his creative ways to cook the meat.
Married life isn't complete unless you have a membership to Costco. I felt so grown up getting my membership Al took a picture of me getting a picture. I don't know why I smiled since the picture looks like a werid blurred gray thing anyway. My favorite thing in Vegas is probably the Fashion Shows at Fashion Show Mall. It's always exciting when you're walking through the mall and see a stage raise up out of the ground to techno music with models doing the walk. See Video Clip.

We were standing at the end of the stage and Al thought it would be funny to make faces at them?? It must be a guy thing. Anyway if you come to Vegas and have a thing for malls like I do then this will be one of our destinations.

Now everyone is probably wondering how Miss America was. As you can tell by this picture we didn't have the closest seats, but I still loved it and I think Al did too. It was so neat when they crowned her and she got to wave to me and the crowd. There She Is Miss America. Afterwards we went to Texas de Brazil which is one of those Brazilian restaurants where they carry cows on sticks and carve meat off on your table. Not my first choice, but Al loooves meat. Look how happy he is in this picture and all because he has meat.

Lastly Als family was in San Diego for his dads millionth marathon, so they stopped on the way back and had lunch with us at In N Out. First of all I have to say Al #4 is amazing for running all these marathons. He deserves a pair of gold shoes like Michael Johnson. Here is a picture of #4 and #5 running the NYC marathon in 2004.
The most exciting thing about this entry is Lexi just graduated from highschool and had a birthday. I love birthdays, so I bought cupcakes for everyone at the cupcakery. Now if you don't know about the cupcakery we will also go there when you come to Vegas. Every bite of the cupcake is amazing. Happy Birthday and Graduation Lexi!!

Martin Luther King Day

What a great holiday to celebrate in Las Vegas. We went to pick up my car on the east side of Vegas which isn't the best area like SLC and we witnessed a shooting. I followed Al home in about an hour of traffic because the freeway is under construction and while I was on the phone with him I heard a thump on the side of my door. Some lady threw something at my car because I wouldn't let her over in front of me. We followed her and got her license plate number which I'm sure will do no good. We made one last stop at Wal Mart to do grocery shopping. Apparently all of Las Vegas was at this Wal Mart because we had to wait in line for about 30 minutes for Rocky( I made a note of his name) to scan and try to bag our meat with vegetables. Al worked at a grocery store in highschool and was so kind to teach me that you bag like items with like items. By that point we were both Fired Up as Al would say which leads me to this picture. A movie is coming out called Fired Up and we are excited to see it. We have no idea what it's about.

On a lighter note I got a part time job at Ann Taylor. I will be making $8.00 an hour. If you need a loan I wouldn't ask me. Maybe Al will take me out to dinner tonight to celebrate. It's Tuesday Taco night at Del Taco where you can get 3 crunchy or soft tacos for $1.00. I'm glad they give you that option. Happy Tuesday

Another Day Another Dolla

I've decided to dedicate Sunday as a blog day. I'm never really sure how many people actually read this, but here is an update on the past couple weeks. Al's friend Brayden from San Antonio was here last week and we lived it up on the strip.

We went and saw Mystere at Treasure Island which was so good and ate at a new sushi restaurant called Social House. I would post a picture, but it's not my best shot. We also went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Al loved the part where you can pet the fish. When I finally tore him away half of his sleeve was wet...lol

We ate at the Wynn buffet which was even better than the World buffet at the Rio. They have these amazing floral arrangements when you walk in and all you can eat crab legs.

Here is some of Bits before and after.

Encore just opened, so we went and walked around and discovered the game of War. It's probably the best card game in casinos I've seen so far. Here is a picture of the chandeliers that are amazing.
Al and Bits were planning on going skiing at Mount Charleston on Saturday, but had an even better idea to drive to Utah and ski for the day. Being the amazing wife that I am I let them act like highschool boys and agreed to go. For the third time in 2 months we drove to Utah and pulled up to my moms house around 5am to get a few hours of sleep. They went skiing for the day and I hung out with my Mom and Ryan. We went shopping, got pedicures and manicures, and convinced Ryan that girl jeans made him too skinny.

Later that night we met up with Al's family for dinner and got to see Nikki's new baby Briyler. Congrats to Nikki and Kaj!! Here is a picutre of Ryan holding him.
We decided to go back to my moms and sleep until 3am and get up and drive so Bits wouldn't miss his flight. Ryan and I got a little camera happy.

It was good to go back and see the fam for 24 hours. Hopefully we can stay longer next time.
I have been searching for jobs non stop and had no luck. The unemployment rate here is really high and no one is hiring. Hotels are probably the ones struggling the most. So I don't go completely insane twiddling my thumbs at home Al had take your wife to work day which was so fun. I got to sit in the car while he went in offices and drive around in wheelchairs at his office.
Here is Al at his desk talking about something work related I'm sure.
Yesterday we had free tickets to go see Lance Burtons magic show at the Flamingo. It probably wouldn't have been that good, but Al got called up on stage to wear this ridiculous mask with 3 other guys.

The Flamingo is a pretty happenin hotel. They have people getting massages at the tables, they have the Big Wheel which is up there next to War, and they have Pink Flamingoes outside!!

Feelin Fine in 09'

I thought I would use the colors and fabric of our wedding for our 2009 blog background. Also I'm really tired of looking for jobs online, so this was an excuse for me to take a break.

2009

We stayed in Vegas for New Years Eve and the Bush family came to visit. That included gassy Lyric:) We miss you Lyric.
We went and got sushi before the partying began and it was so yummy. I drank 4 huge diet cokes which gave me a caffeine high for the New Year. We made our way to the strip to watch the amazing firework display which didn't turn out to be so amazing this year. Tonya and Billy made some new friends.
We watched the Bellagio fountains a couple times which never seems to get old.

When the clock struck midnight everyones faces went to the sky and there were no fireworks to be found. I heard some lady say "oh they are shooting them off from the ground this year because of the fire at the Monte Carlo???" Are you serious?? You mean to tell me I just risked my life driving here, walked a mile in this crowd of people and there are no fireworks?? Look at the insanity in this picture and if you look in the distance you can see a cloud of smoke from where they shot off the fireworks. So Lame
We made our way back to the car and went to Club Rain to see Paul Oakenfold. Thanks for getting us on the list Britt!! The show was awesome. The four of us didnt make it until 5am when it usually gets over, but it was fun.

There were some crazy dancers hanging from the ceiling.

I almost forgot the most important highlight of New Years Eve. THE KISS!!

This might be a suprise to everyone, but Im looking for a new job in Las Vegas. No I can't be a cocktail waitress. Let me know if you have any ideas. Happy New Year!!
