Halloween 2014

On Halloween we went with Lauren and Brock to the Arboretum.  It got really cold the night before so it was nice to finally be able to wear jackets!!    Alex and Cole hanging out in Pumpkin Village.
We made it to the Children's Gardens this day and could've spent the entire morning in this one area.   We found out there was a Torchy's Tacos super close so we went there on the way home, yum.
I took some pictures of them before we went to my friend Ally's for a neighborhood dinner.
Cutest Hook and Peter Pan I've ever seen and Cole was killing me in those tights.
A group picture of the kids.
and the moms.
Alex, Will, and Brock.

I was bummed I had to put jackets over their cute costumes.  I remember some Halloween's being so cold in Utah and wearing my winter coat so I guess it could have been worse.
It was so fun to watch the looks on their faces and hear Cole's little voice say Trick or Treat and then Thank You!!
We got home around 7:30 and let Alex hand out candy to the Trick or Treaters.  Every time the doorbell rang he would run to the door and say the guys are here!!   Next year we'll just let him hand out candy since I think he liked that more than trick or treating.  I can't wait for next year!!

Soccer Season

3 year old soccer was hilarious. Alex definitely was never really into it, but then again he is 3.  At all the warm weather games you could find him picking grass and letting it go in the wind while the other kids were running every direction, haha.  How cute is this kid?  Seriously I just love him and he has the sweetest personality.
The last couple of games the Coach had Alex kick every out ball since he didn't really participate in the actual games :)
Team cheer with Coach Matt

Fun night at Top Golf for Kris's birthday.
Watching their favorite movie Despicable Me!!

Helping me bake sugar cookies!!
I have so many memories of doing this with my mom when I was a kid.  Icing them is definitely the best though!!

The End Of October

I finally decided it was time for Alex to learn how to ride his bike Grandma and Grandpa Cameron bought him for his 3rd birthday.  It took him a sec with the pedals, but he did great and is a pro now.
Cole is learning how to ride the balance bike that Alex never liked.  I think he will have it down soon, but this cold weather that started last week might slow that down.
Al built a big train for Cole and he was in heaven!!
At the mall which is our second home.  I have a feeling we will be coming here even more now that it's cold outside.
We went to a Halloween party at Steven and Cris's.  Alex got to color and put stickers on his pumpkin.
I let them paint some the next day which actually lasted a good 15 minutes.
A bike ride to the random fountain in our neighborhood.
Al and I carved pumpkins with Alex.  When Al cut the top off Alex looked inside and said" is there a baby in there?" hahaha gotta love kids.   I decided to carve the state of Texas for our first Halloween here.
We met some friends at another big pumpkin patch in Flower Mound one morning.
When was the last time you got to ride one of these old school merry go rounds, so fun.
My perfect poser!!
Hay ride with the boys.
They had these random wooden characters everywhere.  Cole found Minnie. I can't wait to take him to Disneyland next week, he is going to flip!!
How cute is this boy!!  He is my buddy when Alex is at school even though I think he gets a little bored with just me :)

Trunk Or Treat 2014

This year our family Halloween theme was Peter Pan.  I debated between super heroes and Peter Pan.  Initially I thought Alex would say he wanted to be Peter Pan, but he said he wanted Captain Hook.  I bought the Captain hook costume and sword form the Disney Store and my friend Alixa made Cole's.
I bribed them into taking pictures and all Cole kept saying was I want Ax's swooooord.   I bought him a cute dagger and compass, but he wanted nothing to do with it.  Instead the pictures ended in tears over the sword.

Soooo I returned the dagger and compass, purchased another sword and went for round 2 of pictures.

Everything has to be the same for these two or it always results in a fight.
I had everything ready to be Tiger Lily, but I switched to Wendy at the last minute.  This dress wasn't easy to find, but luckily I found this lady on Etsy that made it.
Al was a skinny version of Mr Smee.   Here we are on our way to Trunk or Treat.
I may have gotten more into Trunk or Treat after living in California and seeing all the amazing trunks.  I wish there was a prize because ours would have definitely won and I was bummed because they did the trunk or treating before dinner so it was light and you couldn't see the pretty lights in our trunk, haha.  I also will note that we had music from Peter Pan playing :)
I love how Cole is looking at Al in this picture like why you do you look like that Dad?
Alex playing his part perfectly!!
Of course it was windy so that's why it looks like I'm 500lbs, the worst.  Go away wind!!

After the trunk or treat they had a chili cook of. I made the white chicken chili recipe that won in our Pasadena ward 2 years in a row.  Lets just say taste buds aren't the same out here.  2 out of the 3 chilis that won had no beans and extra meat (how is that even chili)!!  Got to love Texas :)  One last picture of Alex in the trunk before I took down the master piece!!   It looked so magical at night :)

San Fran Half

I always wanted to take one of these pictures so here it is, all ready for race day!!
I bought our team matching boo gloves.
This race is so amazing, seriously.  So much energy, adrenaline, and excitement all crammed into a few hours.
The Start line was way cooler last year with fireworks.
Of course it was foggy and cold again, just like last year and you couldn't see the Golden Gate Bridge, so sad.
So many fun things to see and do at every mile marker.
All of us but Kim and Emily ran with each other until mile 8.  Mile 10 was a long miserable mile uphill, but we did it and then I lost Ash and Laura when my shoelace came untied.  Here I am getting my Tiffany necklace and this years was so much cuter!!
Such a fun race and even better to have friends to run it with.  I felt good the entire time and think all that training paid off.

This year you had to wait in line to get a picture with the firefighters and they wouldn't lift you or anything, haha.
When we got back to our hotel they even had a sign for us!!
Al had to leave for Boston that morning so Lauren took the boys to church and Heather took care of them until I got home.
Rich is Cole's nursery leader and Cole loves him.  Lauren said he wouldn't let anyone else hold him in sacrament.
After we had a long hot shower we went and walked around China Town.
stopped at some random sushi place where it revolves around the table.
Our last stop was the Ferry Building. I got my oyster fix.
and our last picture at the Bay Bridge before they dropped me off at the airport.  It was a great weekend and so much fun to see all these girls.
I'm so bummed that this is the only picture they got of me during the entire race.  Every person on my team got amazing pictures and obviously I didn't, haha.  The girl running next to me decided she was going to do it the night before with us and she even got a better picture, so bummed.
