Murder In The Dark

June was a fun month.  Al was out of town a lot so I spent some time with Diane and her kids.  We met them at Steven and Cristine's community pool for some fun.  Cole wanted to wear Carly's goggles around, this kid is hilarious and check out that belly.

We ended up playing some Just Dance on the Wii

The movie Theater by us has a summer movie day a few times a week at 930am for $1.  I didn't know how Cole would do, but we got him a booster seat, popcorn, some water, and he sat through the entire movie.  We've seen a few since then and it's one of our favorite weekly activities to do together.

We watched Diane's dog Peyton for a few days and it cured me of my I want a dog for the kids.

I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week since we moved here. We are still on the go a lot, but our lives have changed a lot in Frisco.  I would say it's simpler, less going on, and more structured?  Maybe it's just because there isn't  as much to do in Dallas.  Anyway my favorite Tabata class was interupted by Coles poopy diaper.  They bring up a whiteboard with your name on it and hold it up in front of class, hahah.   It's happened 1 other time and this time I had to take a picture.

We've also been swimming a ton and now that it's getting hotter that's really all you want to do outside. Everyone keeps telling me it's a mild summer so I'm not looking forward to a bad one.

I want all our kids to be able to cook meals especially our boys.  I try to let them help me as often as I can.  Alex loves it and Cole just loves anything he does so here's to lots more coking!!

Diane's daughter Danielle was in town so we had dinner at Steven and Cristines followed by Murder In The Dark.  We somehow got all the kids to go to sleep.  Cole was challenging, but we did it.

Here we all are before the game.  Al and I had never played and it turned out to be really fun.  You have to wait until its dark outside and then everyone should dress in black so you can't be spotted.  We want to try to play with the Cameron family when we go to Utah!!

Sarah Mclachlan

For Mothers Day Al bought me tickets to Sarah Mclachlan's concert and the best part was that they were also to meet her.  We left early Thursday morning and left early Saturday morning.  Even thought it was really quick it was so much fun to spend time together and be back in California.  San Francisco was extra foggy that morning.  We couldn't even see the Golden Gate until we were driving over it.

We went on a hike in Muir Woods that actually turned out to be more of a walk, but it was beautiful and fun!!

Since Al and I've been to San Francisco quite a few times we decided to spend 1 night in Napa and 1 in Berkeley.  We got to our hotel in Napa around 3 that afternoon.  It was the perfect time to lay at the pool and read a book (The Husbands Secret, so good).  I don't know when the last time I got to lay at a pool without kids, so this was extra special.

Cole and Alex were staying with Diane, so we got lots of picture updates throughout the day.  Christian taught Cole how to swim with his floatie which has changed my life at the pool, thank you!!

Every restaurant has amazing reviews in Napa so it was hard for me to make a decision, but I chose Morimoto.

Not only was the food beautiful, but it was the best Oysters and sushi we've ever had.

The next morning we had a yummy breakfast at a local cafe and then drove to wine country Napa for our Olive Oil tour and tasting.  We didn't really know what to expect, but it was really interesting.

The tasting was so awesome.  We learned how to smell and taste oil and vinegars and then got use them on veggies, fruit, bread, cheese, and chicken.  

I wish we could have stayed a couple more days, but it was time to drive to Berkley.

It just happened to be one of the last days for Al's quarter team sales, so he was basically on the phone from 9am-3pm, what a nice day off for him :)  We walked around Berkleys campus which was beautiful, went to anthro, lulu (didn't buy anything), and had some yummy Mexican food.   

We got to the concert around 6:30 to pick up our Meet Sarah tickets!!!  I think I got my first Sarah CD in highschool and I saw her in Junior High at the Lilith Fair with Liz.  

I obviously wasn't the only one who was excited.  Some people had posters, flowers, chocolates, and who knows what else to give her.  

They ended up handing out autographed pictures to us and we basically had about 10 seconds to say hi and snap a picture.  I love you Sarah!!

The concert started at 8 and she didn't have an opening band, score.  She sang for almost 2.5 hours and every song was amazing.  Her voice is breathtaking and even better in concert!!  I loved every minute and didn't want it to end.  Thank you Al for an amazing Mothers Day present.  Can't wait for next years

4am Saturday morning came quick and I wish I would have had time to do a quick workout session in the yoga room at the airport, only in California :)   I saw a worship room when we got back to DFW and I thought only in Texas :)  Cole and Alex were excited to see us or should I say Alex was.  Cole was mad at me until after his nap.

Fathers Day Weekend

One of my favorite things is to have fresh flowers on the table.  Every time we go to Trader Joe's lately I usually buy some.  Alex is very observant and always comments on everything.....my clothes, my hair, flowers, the house being clean or messy.  I guess since we didn't have any flowers on the table he decided to pick me some in our yard.   He came in with these and said oh mama I picked you some flowers, put them on the table :)    How can you say no to a cute 3 year old.

That weekend there was a kid movie night at the minor league baseball field in Frisco.  Alex calls it the hoffball field.  It was a parents nightmare, but a kids dream.

I almost laughed when I saw the screen the movie was playing on because it was so small. I don't think our kids watched more than 10 minutes before they ended up in the field running around with the other kids.

The very beginning while they had popcorn.  It was a fun night and almost 1 month later Alex is still talking about it.

Sunday was Fathers Day.  We made Al breakfast and gave him a Fathers Day card with a new tie, lulu outfit, and a couple shirts.  Can you tell these two love their Dad especially Cole who is a Daddy's boy.  Sometimes when I go to get him out of his crib in the morning he says no I want Dada :)

Color Run

A few weeks ago my friend Alixa invited me to do a color run with her and some girls from the gym.  I've always wanted to do one, so the night before we were at Wal Mart trying to coordinate my outfit and making a tulle tutu like the rest of the team.  We tried to get a jumping shot at least 5 times and it was lame every time.

The race was fun and I tried to dodge the color as much as I could.  I just got my hair colored so I was nervous about getting color in it.  When we finished the race they handed you a bag of color to throw up in the air.

That afternoon Al and Alixa's husband Jarom were playing golf so we took the kids to Chick Fil A and sno cones.  Here is Alex with his buddy Bo.  

Right after we bought our Explorer the sport version came out and I've been eyeing the rims ever since.  Al somehow found a guy that was selling them on Craigslist and got an amazing deal.  I love them even if it's not a real sport.  I can also find my car a little easier in a parking lot.  Everyone in Frisco apparently drives a black Ford Explorer.  I counted over 5 the other day at Target, crazy.

Our House

Since we've lived here for almost 3 months and had no visitors I thought I would post some pictures of our house. I guess all those guests we had in Los Angeles were only there because it was California. Doesn't anyone want to see Texas :)  We moved from a 1500 sqft house to a 3500 sqft house and somehow managed to almost fill it up.  We were able to spread out and finally breathe!!   There is still a lot of empty space, but we won't be buying anything until we buy in the next year.  This is our formal living room on the right when you walk through the front door.  How fabulous does that piano look that just got tuned (it hadn't been tuned since the 70s).

 Most master bedrooms are on the main floor here.  It would be awful with a newborn, but it works with our kids ages now.  I'm dying to purchase a head board and new mattress, but it doesn't make sense until we buy.

Our Master is so huge, we have a big empty space that could be a sitting area or perfect for a treadmill.

And there you have it, our house.  We are hoping we will be able to buy this house from our landlord, but he just bought it as an investment property before we moved in soooo that probably won't happen.  It would be so nice to not have to move again for a long time :)
