Sturtevant Falls

Last week we went on hike up Santa Anita Canyon to Sturtevant Falls.  We put Alex in the Bjorn and he was so whiney with Al we switched and I let him rest on my baby bump which was not comfortable for either of us.  Al ended up carrying him the entire way, good Ironman training right :)    Most of the hike was shaded which was great.
Along the way you see cabins and dams that were built in the 1900s.  A lot of the cabins looked run down, but how often would you stay in one if you had to hike in every time?

We made it to the waterfall.  A little crowded, but we've learned that's how most things are in LA.
Alex's favorite time, snack time.  Sharing his pringle with us.
He took a huge bite of Al's protein bar and was laughing about it.
On the way back he chewed on the Camel Back straw the entire time.

Almost there.  Alex passed out right after we put him in his car seat.  For our next hike we need to invest in a hiking backpack.

Beach House Trip

My friend Jenny invited some girls to stay at her families beach house in Dana Point for a couple of nights.  We had lunch at Cafe Rio on the way down and stopped in Irvine to swim at the Lagoon.  It was perfect because it wasn't too deep for Alex and I could still semi relax and sit in a chair.
How great is this place.  It was like a mini Mexico.  Alex saw the older kids going on the slides so I ended up taking him which I knew would be a mistake because he kept pointing and trying to grab my hand to go again.
Alex tried Cherries for the first time.  He would take a bite, make a weird face, hand me the cherry, and then want another one?
He wandered off to where all the big boys were playing and got stuck in a chair....lol
Loved the Lagoon, Thanks Jenny.
That night we had a yummy Italian dinner from Guicho's.  Pasta is Alex's favorite, so he was in heaven.
He loved it so much he was the only one still eating while all the other kids were playing.
8 cute kids after baths in their jammies
Alex always has a rough time sleeping when he's not at home.  I put him down around 8 and went outside to make Reeses smores with everyone, so yummy.

Sienna and Hudson were taking pictures for us, so I have about 10 like this on my phone...lol
Alex was not happy about sleeping in a Pac N Play so I brought him out to the living room to watch the Bachelorette with us.  This picture was taken around 10:30pm eating chips and just hanging out with the girls.  I ended up sleeping with him and going to bed around 11:30pm and guess who woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6am?  He never slows down.
The next morning Jenny took us to the Bagel Shack for the best breakfast ever.  Afterwards we went on a walk along the beach.
This walk is way better than walking in circles around the Rose Bowl.
Just another day at the beach.
The beautiful view from Jenny's beach house.
That afternoon we went to Aliso Beach.
I applied sunscreen at least 3 times and still got fried.  I guess it's true that your skin really is more sensitive when you're pregnant.
One of our favorite places.
Alex enjoying the scenery with some snacks.
Cute Olive
All of us
Alex had his first hot tubbing experience after the beach.  That night we had the best tacos at Baja Fish Tacos in Laguna.  Don't get it confused with Baja Fresh, way different and so good.  I took Alex home that night and he slept until 9:30am the next morning.  I guess we wore him out:)
Thank you so much Jenny for having us.  You are a great friend, love you!!

Fathers Day 2012

I'm so grateful that Alex has an amazing father like Al.  I don't know what we would do without him.   Fathers Day was a relaxing day with a big breakfast, some presents from Alex and I and then we went to church.

Our ward gave all the Fathers a slice of pie to take home.  They had extra so I got one too :)   Thanks for all you do Al, We Love You!!

Pizza Parties

After Alex eats we always wash his hands, he loves it.  Practicing good hygeine early :)
There are a lot of indoor playgrounds in Pasadena so we have been trying them out.  Out of all the toys and Alex goes for the car he has at home :)
Hazel and Alex trying to figure out the teeter totter.
Alex and I having snack time, can you tell I have lots of snacks by my growing tummy?
Our ward has weekly pool parties and this was our biggest one yet, so much fun.  The best part of this picture is Crew jumping in the middle.
Al trying out his new chocolate milk straws my mom bought him.  You just pour yourself a glass of milk, throw in a chocolate straw and out comes chocolate milk, genius.
We had pizza night and since Al's first job was at Cici's pizza it was only appropriate that he shape the dough.  You can't see the dough with my iPhone, but it's somewhere in the air?
A man hard at work.
Our yummy BBQ chicken pizza that we will be making again.
Our music class that we have every week had a special day where we went to an Elderly home and sang for them, it was so sweet.
I think they all loved it.  I took Alex over to the lady in the pink and he loved all her jewelry. Another   fun week for the Cameron's.

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend our good friend Ross got married in Santa Barbara.  We drove down a few hours early so we could have lunch and hang out before the wedding.

I curled my hair for the wedding, but you wouldn't be able to tell in the pictures since it was cold and windy, bummer.
Lacie and Ross were married in the Sunken Gardens at the Santa Barabara Courthouse, so pretty.
Alex showing off his tie and running around in the Gardens.
One of the prettiest Courthouses I've ever seen.
Afterwards they had a dinner at El Paseo Mexican Restaurant.  Al's parents also came to the wedding with us.
I got to see some old college friends.  Alex let Breck hold him, haha.
Ross and Lacie cutting the cake.
College friends.
The Cameron's, congrats Ross and Lacie.  We wish you the very best.
We got to spend the rest of the weekend with Al's parents.  Saturday morning Shelly and I walked around the Rose Bowl while the Al's ran.
We went to Santa Monica during Alex's nap time.
We walked around the Promenade and had lunch at an over priced restaurant called True Foods.  I got some new shoes that Alex was very excited about.
Sunday morning the Cameron's were on their way back to Utah.  Thanks for visiting and we hope you guys come back soon.
