32 Weeks

After my Drs appt last week I decided I needed to go on a hike to help this excessive weight gain problem of mine. We went to Runyon Canyon where all the beautiful people from Hollywood. Probably not the best place to pick when you're pregnant, but the views and people watching are totally worth it. It was super smoggy that day as are most in LA, but you can always hope for those clear ones where you can see the ocean. This is the first look out point in Runyon looking at Century City.

Al and I were laughing at these guys on the hike. This is a perfect example of good people watching. What 4 guys go hiking in matching outfits, perfectly tanned, and toned bodies? We think they are calendar models.

That night we went to Benihanas with Kris and Kristin in Santa Monica.

We decided to walk down to the Pier to see if the Ferris Wheel was going. Everytime I've ever wanted to ride it, it has been closed, but that was my lucky night. Yaaaaaaaaay we finally got to ride it!!

It may have only gone around 3 times once they got everyone loaded, but it was totally worth the $5 to see where Spencer proposed to Heidi.

and how romantic that we had a full moon. Look at all the people laying on the beach at 10:00 at night...lol

Afterwards Al couldn't resist playing one of the carnival games. He chose the impossible ladder and he was on it for such a short period of time it made it even more impossible to get a picture.

People Watching

The weather has been extremely nice in SoCal lately so Al and I decided to go to breakfast and the beach. This wasn't my usual beach trip where I got to lay in the sun and fall asleep in the sand. Let's be honest no one wants to see my white pregnant body in a swimsuit. We only had a few hours so I chose Venice Beach since the people watching is phenomenal there. We ate at this cute little restaurant one of my friends recommended called 26 Beach.

When I walked inside I immediately knew it was going to be a great breakfast. Look at how cute the decor is? I have yet to find any restaurants like this in the lovely city of Glendale.

Al of course chose the sweetest thing he could find on the menu....The Reece's (that's how they spelled it) Peece's french toast stuffed with peanut butter, chopped Reeses, topped with Belgian chocolate and of course served with chocolate sauce on the side. A great way to start your day.

I had the worlds biggest breakfast sandwich with a side of fries that looked delicous, but I was too stuffed to try them after eating half of my sandwich.

A lot of people were ordering the hamburger in the picture below which looked delicous. All the workers wear shirts that say "The Best Burger In LA" so we might be coming back soon to try it.

The Venice Half Marathon just happened to be the same day we picked to go to the beach so it took us forever to find a way to 26 Beach and even longer to find parking to go to the beach. We thought we scored a sweet spot a few blocks away, but after we were in the spot we realized it wasn't going to work if someone needed to leave. Take a moment to admire Al's parallel parking skills.

Eventually we found a normal parking spot and by that time we only had an hour left before we had to leave. In that one hour we saw some entertaining things. The Venice Art Walls which in other words is GRAFITTI.
People were so into this....can you imagine these poor kids that had to go to the beach to watch their dads spray paint "art" on some random wall. I would have been running for the ocean if I were them. There's nothing quite like going to the beach and breathing in spray paint.
We then spotted this guy with a dog in a pink dress. Hopefully he was looking for his girlfriend in this picture.
I debated about posting this next picture on my blog, but again the people watching in Venice is ridiculous. Don't you think this guy could feel that his butt was hanging out of his pants?

The usual street performers were out including the guy that jumps on glass.I spotted a new one that gave "shitty advice for $1.00." I was really tempted to give him $1.00 to see what he would say, but he was kind of scary looking so I opted out. Now that I'm typing this I'm wondering again what he would've said...lol

Oh and this guy was classic. He thinks he has his own tv show. Again it might be worth the $1.00 just to see what he does.

There is always something going on in this little paved circle. Last time it was a 7ft tall guy doing splits on rollerblades and this time it was a guy rolling around in a huge hoola hoop.
It was pretty entertaing to watch. I really want to know who thinks of this stuff.

Last but not least "Get Your Medical Marijuana" , 420 Dr, The Dr is In, Come get your Weed. Basically anything flys at Venice Beach and as soon as little Baby Alex can read we won't be going there anymore, but again lets admit it's the most entertaining beach in California.

The Kings

Al took me to my very first NHL game. We had awesome seats and suprisingly I was able to pay attention most of the game.

I couldn't help but laugh at the girls that came out to shovel the ice. Actually I couldn't believe the outfits they had to wear to shovel ice...lol I think Hockey should have ice skating dancers during their intermissions.

When I was bored and people watching I also noticed my purse sitting next to it's match. It won't be long until I say goodbye to that purse and hello to a diaper bag, but it's going to be a cute one.

Al said this was a high scoring hockey game. I think the final score was 5-2 KINGS!!

The only thing I don't like about hockey game is all the intermissions (hopefully that's what they are called...lol). During the first one they had a little kid hockey game which was hilarious. It was definately a little slower than the Kings game, but it was so cute.

Way to go Kings. Thanks for making my first NHL game a great experience.

Happy Birthday Camden

On Saturday we got to celebrate Camden's 1st Birthday. Since 90% of our family and friends live out of state we don't really get invited to a ton of parties, so this gave me a reason to finally feel cool again. No one knows how to have a party like Tonyas family. Good food, music, entertainment, and most important good company.

Camden is the sweetest little boy ever. I can't believe he's already 1.

The highlight of the day was watching Camden eat his very own mini birthday cake.

Did I mention it was 80 degrees. The amazing view from Tonya's parents house in Ventura. I definately wouldn't mind looking at that all day. Of course I was talking about Al....the ocean behind him makes it that much better ;)

Diddy

Last weekend we went to dinner with some friends at a restaurant I found on Yelp called Cafe Bizou. Al told me I was in charge of picking a restaurant because I'm "too picky", but personally I think that's a good thing. We arrived at Cafe Bizou which is sooo cute on the outside. Once we walked inside Kris who is from Florida immediately says are we in Boca Raton? I would say at least 75% of the people there had a good 40+ on us. Our waitress didn't really act like she was our waitress. She handed us a basket of cold stale bread which when I saw her 15min later I asked her if she could give us some warm bread. 10 minutes later she plopped a basket of toasted burnt bread on our table...lol I'm not really sure how warm bread=toasted burnt bread, but whatever. The end result was our food was ok and our service was awful. Lesson learned....don't always trust everything on Yelp even if the restaurant has 4 stars with 228 reviews and don't let your husband take a picture from this angle when you're 7 months pregnant.
We decided to make up for our dinner by going somewhere else for dessert. We decided on Diddy Riese in Westwood and fought the line that went around the block. If you are a faithful reader you have read about Diddy Riese in previous blogs. This place does not disappoint. The most important rule about Diddy Riese is to have your order ready. For some reason after I spend 30 minutes standing in line I always want to change my mind or forget what I'm going to order when it's my turn. You can't be selfish at Diddy Riese so if you mess up your order or forget something than "it is what it is." You could always stand in line again, but I don't really suggest that. The most popular item to order is their famous ice cream sandwiches. You get to choose from 10 different kinds of cookies (you can choose different ones for the top and bottom), and 12 different kinds of ice cream. They slap the biggest scoop of ice cream between the cookies and wha la only $1.50. I don't like how the ice cream makes the cookies cold (I'm weird and difficult I know) so I order a scoop of ice cream and cookies separately.Dessert totally made up for our awful dinner and we even scored these sweet seats right outside of Diddy Riese.
and here I am at 31 weeks. I can't believe I only have 9 more to go, so crazy!!
