Halloween Weekend

Last weekend we were chaperones for a USC Kappa exchange. There is nothing that makes you feel older than to sit at a dance and watch a bunch of college kids drink and dance the night away. This exchange was at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. It's a ridiculous club/hotel/gym that you have to pay $100,000 to be a member of. The dance/bar area looked just like the game Clue, so it made for a really cool Halloween party.
Al and I got really creative and dressed up as Dr's. He wasn't down to be Hef again and I didn't really want to compare my pregnant body to all the pretty college girls so I agreed that scrubs would be perfect. There were several times throughout the night that college boys came up to us and asked us if we were real Dr's? I couldn't help but laugh and think wow they are totally voting for prop 19 (marijuana legalization). Why would real Dr's be at a sorority dance? There were so many cute costumes. Here is a pic of some of the girls I'm an advisor for dressed up as Candy Land characters.
On Saturday we went to the UCLA game and scored sweet seats from a scalper.
All the cheerleaders were dressed up as Disney couples, so fun.
Than we gave up our seats to sit by Al's boss on the other side of the stadium.
Yay for UCLA football gamesLater that night we went to our wards trunk or treat party. Al and I decided to decorate our trunk this year since we are primary teachers. We were so cool we even had Halloween music playing. Where were trunk or treats when we were kids? Best and fastest way to get candy for sure.
On Halloween we decided to go to the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval. It began as a gay and lesbian event in the 80's, but it's gotten so big that anyone and everyone comes (500,000 people). There were soooo many creative costumes. I'm not sure what some of the costumes were and some I would rather not say, so if you can't figure it out, it's probably better that way. (that totally rhymed).

Sushi chefs from the oil spill

No idea, but these guys were getting so much attention.
The crowd of 500,000 people
Rather not say
This guy had pepperonis on his nipples....lol
rather not say
This guy was a "One Night Stand" complete with his gf or bf in the blue dress next to him.
These guys were hilarious. They pulled a little red wagon around with a boom box blasting Tina Turner music.
Pee Wee Herman and after I asked him for a picture I realized he was just as creepy as the real Pee Wee.
Al and I as Dr's again.and my work Halloween party. The 80's Accounting team, Happy Halloween!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Our long awaited highly anticipated Doctors appointement was on Tuesday to find out the sex of our baby. Sure enough just as I suspected IT'S A BOY!! My mom told me when we first got married that I would have a boy first and somehow her psychic abilites always prove to be right. My Uncle David that lives in California looked at our first ultrasound picture at 11 weeks and said It's A Boy and it's going to have Whitney's personality (hahah scary I know). He also has the Ranes psychic abilities. I've had a feeling for the last 2 months that it was a boy and usually those feelings are right. Right before we went into our appointment Al said I've had a feeling all day that it's a girl and I was like no way I would be sooo suprised if it was, it's totally a Boy. I should have made a bet with him!! Anyway the Dr. pointed to the screen and said it's pretty obvious what it is and Al's face lit up and said A BOY?? hahah I have no idea how people wait until they have the baby to find out what it is. Here is the ultrasound picture. If you look closely you can see him throwing up a peace sign. Isn't he cute :)
Afterwards we went to Target so we could each buy an outfit. For some reason this Target was 75% full of girls clothes. Is that normal? Where is all the boy stuff? I picked out the perfect outfit for him. It says I'm super awesome like Daddy.
and we had a "boys" dinner, Pepperoni pizza. I decided not to stuff my face since I gained 7lbs since my last Dr's appt which was 3 weeks ago!! At this rate I might be able to appear on next seasons The Biggest Loser.
Now the name picking starts. Since Al is the fifth we have to consider Albert Alexander Cameron VI? Personally I think it's waayyyy too many Al's ;)

Hef And His Bunny

Last weekend we went to a Halloween party as Hugh Hefner and me as his Playboy Bunny. Here I am at 19 weeks, almost halfway there!! I'm probably one of the more modestly dressed bunnies, but I didn't have a lot of options since none of my clothes fit.

There always has to be someone with a ridiculous costume that attracts all the attention. At this party it was Pamela Anderson.
and this guy in his blow up costume was hilarious. He wouldn't stop playing with his boobs full of air...lol

Yay for Halloween

WET Design

Last week we went to a University of Utah alumni event in Burbank. The founder and CEO of WET Design went to the U and had a reception for fellow alums for a reception and tour of his amazing workshop. What is WET Design? I asked myself the same question when the invitation came in the mail. WET is the company that created some of the most famous fountains including The Bellagio in Las Vegas, the cauldron for the 2002 Winter Olympics and The Burj in Dubai. Founder and CEO Mark Fuller hosts fellow alums for a reception and tour of his award-winning workshop. Here is Mr. Mark FullerThe office area was so cool. They had these rooms everywhere with movable white board walls and bean bags to sit in. The other cool thing was that everything was in Utah Red!!

Fountains with fire. I even got to stick my hand through it, amazing.
The cleanest whitest lab ever.
Crazy machines that make the fountains. I wish I could explain things in more detail, but engineering has never really been my thing
and us in our cool new WET hats!!

Boy or Girl??

We find out what we are having tomorrow. I have a feeling it's a boy and Al just wants it to be a boy, but whatever it is we are soooo excited!!

sweet harts

Our friends Kris and Kristin from Las Vegas just moved to L.A. and I'm sooooo excited. We went to see their new abode and found the best dessert place around the block. It's basically the best store ever because it has all your favorite candy from your childhood,
Cupcakes that you can ice and design yourselfmore cupcakes, cakes, and pastries
Yogurt that has just as many yummy toppings as Yogurtland.
and my favorite room.....the birthday room. If I knew enough people in L.A. I would totally have my birthday party here and sit in that big white chair and eat candy with everyone.
Look how cute this place is?
Yay for sweet harts and boo for looking fat and not pregnant in this picture.
