Little Elm Beach

One morning we took a trip to the Little Elm Beach which is about 15 minutes west of us. It's really hard for me to figure out where I'm at with no landmarks besides all the water towers. What is with Texas and water towers?  We met a new friend and her kids there and enjoyed the great weather.  I heard it gets really busy during the summer, but this was right before school got out so there was barely anyone there.
These two are seriously so funny.  They are starting to have conversations and it's hysterical.  Yesterday Cole was hitting Alex and Alex said "Cole don't hit me, I'm Asix (that's how he says his name) Cameron.
Alex had a blast playing in the sand and water.  Brought back all of our memories from California :)
Snack break and I'm pretty sure that isn't normal sand.
Yum seaweed, but they call it sushi.
I love that Cole will still let us rock him to sleep, so sweet.
We went over to Diane's one afternoon to help her organize a room before Nicole's wedding reception that weekend.  Cole and Alex love these bean bags she has at her house.
Al got on a new car kick about a month ago after the Acura started having a bunch of issues.  He decided he wanted an Audi A6 so he did a ton of research and found an awesome deal in Alabama on one that was a 2012 with every option imaginable.  He was in New Jersey for work that week so he flew to Alabama and then drove this beauty home.  He has drove the < car for 6 years and he works very hard so this was well deserved!!  We put the kids car seats in it that weekend and Alex kept telling me he didn't like my car and then one day I found Cole hanging on the door handle trying to get in it.

Blackberry Fun

I've been on the hunt for a place to pick berries.   I found a local farmer about 1 hour away from us that has a blackberry farm, but this year he didn't have a ton so he took reservations on Facebook.  Luckily I saw it and signed us up.  The boys loved it and Alex was picking all the good ones and we will need to work on Cole's berry picking for next year.  I looked in his bucket and it was full of white blackberries.

Cole's face is hysterical in this picture and notice his basket full of pink and white blackberries.
Alex in his blackberry element.
Can you tell it was so humid?  We maybe lasted 30 minutes and we were all drenched.
I love these next two pictures.  They had some water under a shaded tree to cool off.
Love these two.  Too bad I was doing Whole 30 or I would have made blackberry pie or cobbler.

Random

A couple weeks ago we took another trip to the Dallas Zoo before it gets too hot.  Cole riding the shortest pony ride ever.
Alex petting the goats.  I took my own bunch of Kale this time so our big group wouldn't have to pay $5 for every piece.  Turns out they were feeding the giraffes crackers that day and they didn't want anything to do with Kale, haha.
The Kroger grocery store by us has about 10 of these shopping carts, but they have saved me so many times.  It's so nice to live in a family friendly city!!
I talked Al into going to my Tabata class at the gym on Memorial Day and 3 days later he was complaining how bad his arms hurt, hahaha so funny.
We took a trip over to Allen to eat at Torchy's Tacos.  Their queso and chips is so yummy, just look at Cole dipping his chip.
Al came home from Basketball on Thursday night and there was a 5 outlined in sweat on his back,  5's everywhere he goes.
For Al's birthday I bought him tickets to go tour the Cowboy Stadium.  It's about 40 minutes from us and it was on a Friday.  When we got there we were informed that it was a soccer stadium and you couldn't go on the field and that's why the tickets were $10 cheaper, WHAT?  I had no idea about that when I bought them.  Al got in a fight with the ticket guy and we ended up getting a refund.  It was 5pm at that time so instead of driving home we found the closest mall to hang out at and eat dinner.  Win for everyone, but a big fail for Al's birthday present.

Al Turns 31

Al worked most of his birthday so I made him a yummy chocolate cake with brown butter frosting that morning. I had Alex and Cole sing to him a few times.  One of their favorite things to do is share a bowl of cereal with their Dad.  I'm sure one of the biggest reasons is because it's always a cereal with tons of sugar that I don't let them eat.
Al's request for dinner that night was BBQ at Hard 8 in Coppell which is about 30 minutes away from us.  The only really good thing was the Brisket, hot peppers, and onions.  I'm still not a huge BBQ lover, but maybe I'll start to learn.
The boys
and cake to end a birthday for our Dear Al/Dad.  We love him so much!!

Memorial Day Weekend 2014

Have I talked about all the bunnies in Frisco? I haven't been blogging consistently enough to remember what I talk about, but there are a lot of bunnies.  In Pasadena it was our neighbors cats and now we've moved onto bunnies.  They are everywhere including our backyard and garden.  I'm really really hoping they don't eat my garden.  Alex looks out the window every morning to see if there is any in the yard and in our favorite frozen song it says "we used to be best buddies, but now were not"  Alex says bunnies instead of buddies, I love it.  So cute.
Lots to see and do in Dallas and this Saturday it was the Dallas Farmers Market.
How have I ever complained about weather in SLC, Vegas, and LA?  Humidity is horrible!!  I feel like I'm being smothered everyday.  I don't know how I will ever adjust.  How about this beautiful view of downtown Dallas from the Farmers Market?
We took the kids swimming at the Frisco Athletic Center that afternoon, came home and fed them dinner and this happened.  In 3 1/2 years this has never happened so Al and I were both shocked when we looked over and saw Alex asleep at the dinner table.
That night Al and I went on a date for his birthday to Bobs Steakhouse in Plano.  We both had an amazing steak and got to talk to each other without any interruptions, amazing.

We got called as primary teachers in our ward so Sundays are exhausting now.  We fight Cole and Alex in sacrament and then fight 8 5 year olds for 2 more hours.  This Sunday Cole fell asleep with Al. We were trying to get him to wake up but nothing was working so we started making him pose.  Lol
Memorial Day was busy and fun!!  We went to some friends house from church and had a BBQ and swim party.  Alex went off the diving board in his life jacket and loved it, so glad he is finally comfortable in the pool now.  That afternoon we went to Diane's house for more food and swimming.
