Mothers Day Weekend 2013

My mom sent me some pretty flowers and yummy chocolates.  I talked Al into seeing the Great Gatsby that night and it was amazing.

After the movie I started feeling sick.....sore throat, achey, chills.  On Saturday I felt a little better and wanted to take Alex to a park I found online called Monster Park.  They have giant concrete sea creatures that are made into slides.
It was sooo hot, I was dying in my long sleeve shirt.
The giant whale which is also a slide.
Alex loves to play, play, play.
The Dannels family met up with us and Alex had a blast playing with Crew and Hudson.  For some reason Alex hates pictures especially group ones.
We found this amazing sno cone place in Alhambra.  The best part is you can pour on your own flavors.
Alex in a sugar coma
Al took Alex and Cole to the store to let Alex pick out something for Mothers Day. Initially he wanted to get me a balloon but then he changed it to a flower:)   So cute.
On Sunday we went to church and I wanted to go to the beach that afternoon, but I was still really sick. It was a great day with chocolates, flowers, cards, and a juicer!!  Al made dinner that night by ordering Thai for me, so yummy.
I love being a mom and I'm thankful to have 2 healthy handsome boys.  It's one of the hardest, but most rewarding jobs and I'm very grateful I can stay at home with them everyday.

Zimmer

How nice of Al to FaceTime us while he was golfing.
I decided to go back blonde.  Hopefully the girl that does my hair in LA never reads this, but it took 3.5 hours and I left with wet hair.  Talk about painful.
My hair is still not blonde, more like an brassy orange.
We went with some friends to the Zimmer Childrens museum on the West Side.  Nothing is easy to get to and parking is insane.  Zimmer is in a business building and it is also owned by the Jewish community. Mezuzahs are in every room you walk into and the Jewish star was on every toy.  Next time I might buy a yamaka for Alex so we don't feel left out.
Playing with Saige in the water.
Alex loved the ball pits. He was doing back dives off the boat into it. I feel like public ball pits are hard to find these days with all the germs and weird things associated with them.
If there is a kitchen near you will always find Alex in it.  He's obessed.
Our fun group with 4 2 year olds and little Cole :)  Afterwards we had a yummy lunch at Chick fil a.  It's probably one of the only Chick fil a without a playground.

Six Months

  6.5 Month Stats
Weight 18 lbs 4.5 oz 50th percentile
Height 27 1/2 inches long 75th percentile
Head 44 1/4 cm 75th percentile
Sleeping from 6:30PM-7AM, HALLELUIAH.   When I got back from Utah I promised myself I was going to do sleep training.  I took his binky away on April 17th and was really nervous.  The first 2 nights were a little challenging since all he wanted was something to suck on, but he immediately started sleeping better including his naps.

I started him on rice cereal on April 21st and he loves it which is opposite of Alex.  We've tried green beans, avocados, and sweet peas.  He gets the shivers every time he eats them, but he keeps eating it....lol
Loves the Mum Mum Rice Biscuits and gets really excited when you hand him one.
To move around the ground he thrusts.
I've been thinking he is going to get 1 bottom tooth, but it still hasn't come through.
Takes 2 pretty consistent naps as long as we are home.  He loves to have something to snuggle his face into when he goes to sleep.
He loves to be held.
He will whine like a puppy dog when he wants you to pick him up.
He loves to watch Alex and Alex likes to hand him baby toys, not his toys :)   We are working on sharing.
As soon as you unbuckle his car seat he arches his back and scoots down to get out.
He just started rolling over right before he turned 6 months.
Loves to hold onto and play with his feet.
I think I've written this before but his forehead gets really spotty when he cries.
So relaxed and calm.  He is seriously the best baby

1/2 Birthday

What did we ever do before Pinterest was around?  I want to come up with some fun family traditions that our kids will love so I've been making a list on my phone.  I thought this 1/2 birthday idea was fun and since Cole just turned 6 months old it was meant to be.  Alex loves to sit on the counter and watch me cook.  I've been trying to let him do it more often, but sometimes it gets a little crazy. He was in heaven licking the spatula.  He couldn't eat it fast enough.
Alex couldn't keep his eyes off the cake and Cole couldn't keep his off Alex.
Cole would have loved to have some too.
You can't leave a toddler out, so Alex got his own cake too.
I'm not sure if we will do this for every 1/2 birthday, but it was fun to try.  Stop growing so fast Cole.

2 Years

 2 Year Stats
Weight 29lbs 75th percentile
Height 36 1/2 inches long 75th percentile
Head 50 1/2 cm 98th percentile
At 2 years old, this kid.....where do I begin
Alex loves to go, go, go.  He wouldn't nap and stay up until 10pm if we let him.
He goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up at 7am.  He loves to read books and sing songs before he goes to bed.  He also still cries at nap and bedtime for 10-15 minutes and has since he was 1.
You never know what kind of a mood he's going to be in after his nap.  It could be good or it could be bad and if it's bad you don't say a word to him until he talks. :)
Some of his favorite activities are Kidspace, any park, the beach, Disneyland, and just being outside.  We can't wait until we have a yard for him to play in all day long!!
Alex is very particular in all that he does.  If his hands are dirty he wants them wiped off that second, if he has trash he wants to throw it away, he likes to line up his toys a certain way.
He loves all things Cameron especially food.  Chicken nuggets, Mac N Cheese, Pizza, and any pasta.  He will eat bowls of it, but then when I make chicken and a veggie he won't touch them. He also loves sugar, but what kid doesn't.  I was so careful about not letting him have it and after he turned 1 it was all downhill.
He is starting to talk a lot more.  We have a speech therapist come to our house twice a week and I think it is helping a lot.  Some of his favorite words are mama, dada, car, ju (juice), ni ni (night night), Cole, shhh cole is sleeping, be bow (mickey mouse), nemo, toy story,
Just learned how to open doors so we had to buy a new door knob to lock him in his room.
Will tell you as soon as he poops.
He points to Al and says potty.
I said I would potty train at 2, but now it's 2 1/2
Knocks on the door when Al's in the bathroom
When it's bath time he yells Al from upstairs and then Al will chase him.  It's a nightly ritual now.
Pats the couch for you to sit by him and says si si.
We go to music class every Friday.  Some of his favorite songs are I'm a Bubble, Grand Old Duke, The Old Gray Cat, Twinkle Twinkle, I'm a Child Of God.
Likes to climb on me while I'm nursing Cole.
Loves any kind of sunglasses or goggles.
Obsessed with anything kitchen and likes to carry everything around in Lululemon bags.
He's a wiz on the iPhone.  He unlocks my phone, scrolls to the Disney app, flips it horizontal so it's bigger and then turns up the volume.
He isn't a huge fan of the mall anymore.  As soon as we walk into a store he screams so we usually end up on the carousel or indoor playground.
Loves to dance and sing.
Has an opinion about what he wears.  If it was up to him he would wear basketball shorts and t shirts.  He hates jackets or sweaters.
When he gets embarrassed or shy he puckers his lips and squints his eyse.
Just got into Legos and trains.
Always very concerned about Cole and will ask where he is or if he hears him cry he will say thats Cole.
We had his 2 year pictures taken while I was in Utah last month and surprisingly they turned out really good.  We were blowing bubbles, giving him candy, anything to smile!!

Our Week In Photos

Cole is growing like a weed.  Time never seems to slow down.  This is his favorite thrusting move.
He is still pretty bald, but his hair is still really dark and I think his eyes will end up being a dark blue.
Alex is so sweet with Cole.  He asks where he is at all the time.  He will tell you to shhhh when he is sleeping.  He will get him a toy while he is playing with his toys.  These two are going to be the best of friends.
My buddy Alex at the grocery store.  We went to 2 in 1 hour and requested an apple at both stores.  At least he hasn't discovered the candy at checkout yet.
Trying to FaceTime Al

I introduced Alex to sidewalk chalk and he loved it.
Cole hanging out in his Tummy Tub.
Alex and Kingston loving the fountains at Kidspace
My little ball of love sleeping soundly without his binky!!
I made a mistake and ordered pasta with red sauce at Nordstrom Cafe.  I was scrubbing stains out for at least 20 minutes that night.
Somehow I got to sit with Adeline and Alex.  I looked at Amber and said does she know how to spin this.  Alex was loving it, but Cole and I were a little dizzy.
Family Friday date night.  Alex climbed in Cole's car seat and Al carried him out to the car like this.  He didn't want to get out.
Cole's first time swinging
He loved it!!
We were debating what to do one night and ended up in Burbank eating dinner and walking through the most random mall.  We let Alex ride this train which he loved.
The lady running the train got side tracked taking money and giving other customers tickets so Alex and this little boy got a really long ride.  I was dying at the random props.
Alex got pink eye so I stayed at home with him on Sunday.  We both can't sit inside everyday so I talked Al into driving up a canyon.  Pretty views of LA

Our Cinco De Mayo dinner, yummy!!
