Saturday Is A Special Day

Most Saturday mornings are taken up with Al training for the Ironman, but last Saturday he didn't have anything so we hiked to the Hollywood sign.  I'm hoping one of these days I will pick a clear day with amazing views because this was the smoggiest I've ever seen it.
Yay we made it to the top and it was only 80 degrees.  On our way down there were so many people, so if you decide to go on this hike make sure you go early.
Normally you could see Hollywood and Downtown LA, but nope just smog.
Alex was snacky as usual....he had crackers, string cheese, and then shared our apple and pear.  When he wants something he says Da Da so I heard that about ever 5-10 minutes because he wanted a drink.  On our way down he wasn't digging the Bjorn so we just carried him.  It might be time to invest in a hiking backpack for him.
and the Hollywood sign, Hooray.
That night I went to dinner with some friends at AKA American Bistro to celebrate Chelsea's Birthday.
Afterwards we tried to go see a movie at the Archlight, but they wouldn't let us in 5 minutes late, so long story short we ended up at the Fair Oaks Pharmacy with yummy shakes and malts.  Happy Birthday Chels!!

Here We Go Again

If you haven't heard I'm pregnant with baby #2 and I'm due November 10, 2012.  Al and I decided we wanted 2 kids 18-24 months apart before we had Alex.  Timing couldn't have been better and we are very excited to welcome this new baby into our family.  We found out I was pregnant the same day we left for Utah for Alex's Birthday Party.  I was so surprised I made Al take the second pregnancy test just to make sure mine was right, haha.
As soon as I started getting morning sickness which happens around week 5 for me I wasn't so sure if I was ready for another pregnancy. This pregnancy has been really similar to Alex's so far, so I'm thinking it's another boy which is what we both want, but a girl would be great too.   I will be 13 weeks in a few days so I'm hoping I start to feel better soon.  28 weeks to go and hopefully I won't be a week over due like I was with Alex :)

Ocean Park

On Friday we had a beach day with some friends.  May Gray seems like it came early this year because what was supposed to be a sunny and warm 75 degree beach day turned into a foggy 65 degree beach day.  We decided to go anyway and just dress warm.  3 toddler car seats crammed into a Honda Accord.
We stopped at Bay Cities Deli on the way and got Godmothers.  The best sandwich ever, seriously.
Cold and fog doesn't seem to bother kids.  Alex still had a blast and didn't lose sight of his snack bag.
He loved this chair so much he played in it for at least 30 minutes.

Boys club at the beach, so cute.
A fun day with great company.

Still Behind

I'm still behind on blogging like 2 months behind which is so unlike me. It's been hanging over my head like a chore for weeks. So beginning 2 months ago I went to the Arboretum in Arcadia with some friends.  I heard there was a lot of peacocks and it was true.  Everywhere I turned another one was lurking with it's feathers spread.  I was taking a picture of this one and it started squawking at me, scary.
Can you tell it was Alex's nap time in this picture.   Oh naps....can't live without them.
Over a month ago I went to the LA Zoo and became a Annual Membership Holder, so if you come visit I will take you to the Zoo for free!!   We asked a zoo worker to take a pic on my iPhone and this is what I got.  Animals are obviously her specialty.
Alex was still a little under the weather from the getting in the flu so he wasn't too into the animals, but he did like the giraffes.
The zoo wore him out and this is how we left.
Bath time is a special time at our house.  Alex loves it and so do I because that means I get to relax afterwards.
Alex likes to climb into the trunk of his cozy car.  Wild thing.
Having dinner at Chipotle, loves his black beans and rice.
Shopping at Costco.....couldn't wait until we got home to eat his string cheese.
Every time we sit down to eat, Alex appears with his mouth wide open.
Disneyland fun
Ferris Wheel at California Adventure
Checking out the views
The Carousel, Alex's favorite.  Still a little too young to ride by himself because right after this picture he did a back bend and almost fell off the horse.
Birthday breakfast with my friend Laura and we both showed up in the exact same colors.  What are the chances?
Alex's very own mini Jamba Juice until he poked a hole in the cup and it got all over himself.
Every Thursday our ward has a kids music class.  Last week was our first week and he loved it.  He can't really sit still for more than 2 minutes, but he still ran around with a smile on his face.
Pony Rides at Griffith Park.  I wasn't sure if he would like it or not, but he loved it.
and after this I will almost be caught up, hooray!!

Last Weekend

Last weekend we went to dinner with a group of friends at the famous El Coyote restaurant in Hollywood.
Afterwards we got dessert at Milk.  Al and I were going to go a few weeks ago, but kept driving when we saw the line out the door.  It was close to El Coyote so we all walked over after dinner and got dessert.  Al and I shared a Milky Way Shake, so yummy.
Our group of 14 plus 4 babies
On Sunday we made our way to the IE (Inland Empire) to go to my Uncles Jon's ward.  He is the new Bishop and we got to share this special day with his family and my other 3 Uncles.
Cutest family ever, Jon will be a great Bishop.

Birthday Fun

I'm still blogging about my birthday that was two weeks ago. A bunch of girls got manis and pedis for my birthday and then went to dinner.  It was so much fun.
Sachia the party planner herself

Left to right Amber, Sachia, Lexi, Heather, Me
Summer, Rebecca
We had dinner at Kabuki in Old Town and had Sushi, Salads, Miso Soup, Calamari, and Gyoza.  Mostly we just laughed the entire night.  It was so much fun.
I don't know what I did for for the last 2 years in LA without these girls.  They are so great and I'm glad they are all in my life.  Thanks for celebrating with me.   XOXO

Baby Bliss

I'm so behind on blogging these days. On April 9th Al's little sister Nikki had her 5th baby Tallinn Kru Harding. He was born at 32 weeks and weighed 3lbs 13oz.  So teeny tiny.... I don't think I would know what to do with a baby that little especially since Alex weighed 8lbs 50z when he was born and seemed tiny.   Nikki and Tallinn are doing good and he should be going home in the next couple weeks.  Congrats to the Hardings and their family of 7!!

Easter Egg Hunts

The day before Easter we went to 3 Easter Egg Hunts, so much fun.  We started off at our first one at 9am.

There were eggs everywhere and a huge basket of stuffed animals for all the kids.
They had the cutest Easter Bunny that showed up with a Boom Box playing Hippity Hop Easters on it's way.
Alex would pick up eggs, look at them, and try to open them.  Still a little young, but I'm sure he will have it down next year as soon as he figures out it's associated with food.
Our second one started at 11 at our church.  We had lunch and then an Easter Egg Hunt.
So many great people in our ward and I'm so thankful to have them all in my life.
Getting ready for the hunt.
Satisfied with his 1 egg he found.
Hazel and Alex eating the jellybeans
and our family Easter Egg Hunt picture.
We took a little swim when we got home to show Al how much Alex likes the water.
Our third Easter Egg Hunt started at 5 and I didn't get any pictures.  Can you believe it?  They were all so much fun and we can't wait until next year.
