Fourteen Months

Alex changes so much all the time and this is the best way for me to keep track of everything. 

 He discovered his belly button about a month ago and loves to play with it. 

Says da da when he wants something. 

Doesn't say words yet, but just started holding up 1 finger when you ask him how old he is and he will point to his nose or lip when you ask him where his nose is? 

Would snack all day long if I let him. Some of his favorites are cheese, grilled cheese, crackers, apple slices, fruit snacks, and fruit pouches.

Holds his arms back when he walks fast. 

Learned how to hum and blow. I can't sit down on the couch without him and he climbs all over me once I'm on there. That feels really good when you're pregnant. 

When I run upstairs to get something he freaks out and crys.

He just learned how to go up and down our stairs, but it still freaks me out since they are so steep.

Loves bath time and this is my favorite scrunchy face he makes.

Had his first corn on the cob a few weeks ago and loved it.

This is how he gives kisses and he makes the noise ahhhh before he does it.  He will also go ahhhh when he wants a bite of something you're eating.

Obsessed with my phone.  He will take it if I leave it somewhere he can grab it.  Then he walks around the house and talks into it.  The nice thing is if I get a text or call he brings it to me.  haha

Both of his top molars just came in.

Doesn't like to stay home all day.  He will stand by the garage door waiting for me to see let's go.  

Loves swimming, but still hasn't learned the concept of you can't jump in by yourself.

He is such a sweet boy that I love so very much.

Pilot

For Christmas I bought Al a package to use a flight simulator and fly a plane.  5 Months later he used it and loved it.  I think I would have freaked out if I had to get in that teeny tiny plane.

Parties and food.

Last week we had lots of parties and dinner dates.  Our first was Jenny's birthday party at Saladang Thai.  So much yummy Thai food.

Such a fun night with lots of laughs.  Afterwards we saw What To Expect When You're Expecting.  Not as funny as I expected, but there were some good parts.

Saturday was the Stake Carnival.  We went on pony rides, train, rides, played in the bounce house, had hot dogs, sno cones, and popcorn.  Alex was in heaven.

Alex still won't hold on when he's riding a pony or carousel, so they let me walk next to him and dodge pony poop.  

He loved it at first, but by the 4th lap he was getting antsy to get off.

and he got his very own cup of popcorn and ate it all, so healthy :)

We missed Al because he was on a crazy 90 mile bike ride straight up a mountain, but more on that later.

Christmas in May

A little late, but so exciting to share. A few girls and I were lucky enough to get tickets to the Ellen Mother's Day show this year.   I've been dying to go to this show or 12 days, so I was ecstatic when I got a call that said I was getting a ticket. It was so funny to look around and see pregnant women everywhere.  Waiting for the show isn't too bad when you have a guaranteed ticket.

They let us take a picture before the show started.  This is the only Ellen episode they let you get up and go to the bathroom while it's being filmed.  In the bathroom they had a pickle and vegetable tray, water bottles, granola bars, fruit, and neck and eye masks.  It was like Christmas the entire show, waiting to see what they were going to give you next, so fun.  Hillary Duff and Nick Cannon were the guests.  

After the show you drive through the parking garage and they give you about half of the prizes.  You stop, they load them into your car, and you drive off.

Father and Son

Last weekend was the father son ward campout.  Al decided to take Alex for a fews hours to run around.  Al said he loved it and would run in and out, out of everyone's tents.  It got a little crazy when they started the fire and Alex tried to walk into it...lol

On Saturday our ward relief society had a trash to treasure exchange.  Everyone brought all their DI junk and we exchanged it with other people.  I scored a bunch of books for Alex.

Summer Days

The last few weeks we have tried to go to Disneyland once a week since our passes are blacked out almost all summer.  One of Alex's new favorite rides is the Casey Jr Train

After we ride it I have the Casey Jr song from Dumbo in my head the rest of the day.  Casey Junior's coming down the track, coming down the track.  Cutest ride ever.

and the hottest day ever.  The weather said it was supposed to be 65 and it was a least 85, I baked.

Last week we got Al to go which is kind of a big deal.  Who doesn't like Disneyland?  His opinion changed when he got to meet Asimo.  Now he wants to go to Disneyland everyday.

Alex passed out right before we ate lunch so Al and I had a lunch date at Downtown Disney, so fun.

Last week we went to the LA zoo and rode the over priced carousel.

Al came to visit us at music class.

and we went to Kidspace which is a really cool kids museum walking distance from our house.  We might be buying a membership there too.  They have a stream and pond the kids can play in outside with buckets and Alex was in heaven.  Next time we will be packing his swimsuit and swim diaper.

None of the malls here have splash pads or fountains the kids can play in.  I'm excited to take him to Gateway in Utah next month, he is going to love it.

Cinco

On Cinco De Mayo 16 days ago, late again we took Alex to a carnival.  He enjoyed his first piece of Cotton Candy and Cascarone cracked on his head.

One of the more expensive carnivals I've been too....$6 for a hamburger and the cheese wasn't even melted.   I did score some used books for $1 a piece so it worked out.

Alex was so worn out he passed out on the way home.

 That week was one of the worst craving weeks ever.  Commercials and any food people would bring up instantly brought on a craving. I think I had KFC, Greek, pizza, and that day it was Chinese, so we went to the best Chinese restaurant we know in LA called Yang Chow.  I always wanted Mexican with Alex, ALWAYS, but I'm all over the map with this pregnancy.  I had spicy chicken with vegetables.

Yang Chow is in the heart of China Town and the first time we ate there we stumbled upon The Garage.  2 1/2 years later it's still in business.

 I made Al walk through their for some Saturday night excitement.  

It was a pretty eventful Cinco De Mayo.
