Three Months

3 Month Stats
Weight 15 lbs 75th percentile
Height 24 1/2 inches long 75th percentile
Head 42 cm 75th percentile
At 3 Months Alex is....Napping in his crib, yay!!
Loves to look around at everything
Loves to stand up which we just learned can be bad if they do it too much because it can make babies bow legged, so no more standing for Alex
Loves to talk especially when he is under his play gym
Laughs a little especially when you touch his toes to his mouth, but he always gets the hiccups
Loves to watch t.v. especially sports or at least that's what Al says. Will crane his neck to watch it no matter where he is
Started sitting in the Bumbo at 10 weeks and loves it. We sit him at the dinner table ever night
So much easier to take him places. We don't freak out when he wakes up at the store or at a restaurant
At 11 weeks he started rolling onto his side
He tries really hard to sit up, but can barely lift his head
Grew out of all his 3 month clothes, so as big as he looks he's right on track
Hasn't taken a Binky in weeks, but will chew on one
He loves to chew on his hands and my fingers
Trevor spotted a tooth when we were in San Francisco. Ya that's right he has a tooth coming in at 3 months. Isn't that a little early....please don't bite me while I'm feeding you Alex
Won't take a bottle unless he's starving which is a little frustrating for me because I can never leave him for more than 3 hours. Plus I have a freezer full of breast milk that I need to use.
He likes Tummy time a little bit better and loves to be propped up on his back on the Boppy
Still continues to poop in the tub almost every night. We read online that it should be a phase he grows out of
We still swaddle him every night even though he has his arms out by the time we lay him down in his crib
He loves going on walks in the Bjorn and his stroller
Loves to look at pictures and read books. I read to him every day and he just stares at the pictures, so cute
He is a sleeper like his mom and dad. At 9 weeks he started sleeping from 8:30pm-5 or 6 am, wakes up to eat and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 8
He is perfect and we are so glad he is ours!! We Love You Alex!!
Today he got 2 more shots.....poor little guy

IRONMAN 2012

Al recently signed up for IRONMAN NYC. Even though he isn't an Ironman yet we are so proud and excited for him to take on this challenge. I know he will do great and we will miss him while he trains.
The 140.6-mile race will take place in parts of both New York City and New Jersey, making it the most metropolitan environment ever to host an Ironman. The course will include a 2.4-mile swim in the Hudson River; a 112-mile bike ride on the Palisades Parkway in Bergen and Rockland Counties; and a 26.2-mile run beginning in Fort Lee, New Jersey and finishing in Riverside Park in Manhattan.

Friends And Family

One great thing about living in California is everyone is always taking vacations here so we get to see lots of friends and family. Last week my friend Joanna was here. We had lunch at one of my new favorite restaurants Alcove Cafe. Their salads are AMAZING!!
Alex is already flirting with pretty girls.

I don't think Jo reads this blog, but if you do come back soon. I miss you!!
Lunch with our friends at Avante Pizza....not the best food, but the good company made up for it.
and dinner with the Godfather. You might think Al is mad at me in this picture because we are sitting so far apart, but Alex is laying between us....lol We love having visitors!

Quick Trip

Al's dad was in San Diego last week so we drove down for the day to hang out with him. Lunch with the Al's
Shopping with the Al's
I felt a little out numbered.
Big news....Alex graduated in his Bjorn so we turned him around so he can face outward. He loves looking around and being able to chew on the Bjorn.
The only problem is when he falls asleep....we felt so bad for his neck Al ended up holding his head while he slept.
Me and the boys in the Gaslamp District
and a rock balancer.....I swear it's the same one we saw in Puerto Vallarta last summer.

First Fathers Day

For Fathers Day we went to church, gave Al his new shoes, and had a mans meal for dinner. Everyone says their dad is the greatest, but in 3 short months I can say Al is for sure the greatest!! He would do anything for Alex and he is the best dad I've ever known. Not only is he Alex's hero but mine as well. When Al talks to Alex his face lights up with a smile and he loves play time with Dad. Happy Fathers Day Al..... We Love You. We are so glad you're ours!!

Eaton Canyon

Good hikes are hard to come by especially after growing up in Utah. If Al and I go on a hike it's usually because there is something at the end. This hike was in the hills of Pasadena and their was a waterfall at the end.
It was the perfect day to hike and Alex fell asleep as soon as we put him in the Bjorn.
I always envision hikes being quiet and peaceful, but everything in LA seems to have too many people including this hike. Apparently we went on the day of a field trip because every 2 minutes there were kids running by us. The worst part was you had to cross 8 streams/creeks like this and there were always kids splashing or trying to get by you.
We made it to the waterfall
Alex was still asleep

The field trip made it to the waterfall and bathed in it.
A good hike always makes you thirsty.
It was a fun hike, but if we ever do it again we are going on a Monday afternoon.

Life In The Bumbo

Oh We Love The Bumbo. I was so excited when I got a Bumbo at one of my showers. Al tried to tell me I would never use it and bla bla bla, but he already knows he's wrong after the last couple weeks. This is one of the first times I sat Alex in the Bumbo. He wasn't too sure at first but now he loves to sit in it and look around.
Sometimes he's serious in the Bumbo.

Sometimes the Bumbo gets him excited as you can tell by the drool on his shirt.
The Bumbo makes him laugh
Sometimes it makes him think
He helps me do chores around the house in the Bumbo
He watches T.V. with Dad in the Bumbo
he eats dinner with us every night in the Bumbo
and if he's cold in the Bumbo I just wrap a blanket around him.
Boy oh boy do we love the Bumbo. I've heard babies love to get a bath in it too, but since he is still pooping in the tub every night we will be holding off on that. Here's to the Bumbo!!
