What Christmas Brought

I must have forgot how I went insane driving to Utah for Thanksgiving, but agreed to drive again for Christmas. Most of you know I have a hard time focusing and a road trip doesn't really help this problem. When we got to SLC it was a blizzard, so we decided to take Ryan and Stacy's dog Brinkley night sledding. We were the only ones in the park.
Brinkley thought the sled was a really big frisbee and everytime we went down the hill he would chase after us.
On Christmas Eve we had dinner with Stacy and her family. Her turkey was amazing, but I wouldn't have expected less. My mom and I used her same recipe for Christmas dinner. Al got initiated into the Ranes family with the famous crocheted stocking by Grandma Ranes. It even says ALBERT!!
Later that night we opened presents with Stacy at the Dearborn Chateau.

Some wore old pajamas and some wore new....
We went to the Ranes and Cameron households Christmas morning. Here is a picture of my moms pretty tree and Ryans homemade Christmas cards which were hilarious.

When we got to the Camerons there was a little snowstorm. Al pulled Coby around the neighborhood on a boogie board. Its good we had a 4 wheel drive truck that Al knew how to drive.

It was so windy and cold. For all you Native Vegas peeps this is a real snowstorm.
I almost forgot to mention my favorite Christmas present....BARBIE. Look at her beautiful blonde hair in the sun. Since I can't buy Christian Louboutins yet I'm hoping to find her some. PS I also loved all my other gifts Albert.
Have I ever mentioned Ryans obsession with minature food and toys?? My mom bought him a mini pool table and I think he liked it more then Rockband 2 for the WII...lol Here is an idea of how mini it is
The next day we had a pleasant suprise when we saw that our car had been plowed in, so my mom had to come get us.

We had plans to go to Cheesecake Factory on Friday night, but when we got there and said a table for 14 they were so kind to let us know it would be a three hour wait. HA ITS CHEESECAKE FACTORY not La Caille. We ended up going to Macaroni Grill across the street. Al and Coby got a yummy Meat Ravioli dish that gave them both a case of you know what. Boo on Macaroni Grill . The only exciting thing was we had them sing Happy Birthday to Trevor.I emptied our stockings today and this is what we ended up with.
While most people will be getting drunk on New Years Eve we will be in Sugar Shock and have gained about 20 pounds. Happy New Years To Us!!
It was great to go home and see everyone. I didn' want to leave. Time seems to go by faster when youre having fun and not working. Here I am again sitting at the computer wondering if anyone is going to read what I'm writing or just scroll thru my pictures and wonder what I'm going to write about next. Maybe my new years resolution will be to cut back on my recently aquired blog.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I'm sure most of you heard it snowed last week in Vegas. After weeks of telling my co workers it doesn't snow in Vegas and they are all crazy, sure enough what happens. The one and only blizzard in Vegas where snow actually stuck to the ground. When I went to lunch it wasn't even sticking to the ground and people were driving 20mph. When I got back to work I sat down at my little desk hoping no one would say "SEE I TOLD YOU IT SNOWS IN VEGAS", but of course they did. I called Al and was like is it really snowing in Vegas? There isn't supposed to be snow on palm trees.

At 3pm it started to look like a Utah snowstorm where it was actually sticking to the ground and I knew I should leave work now because all the Vegas residents would be driving like crazy people and they don't have snow plows. The rumors started spreading and people were like omg its supposed to snow 6ft, all the freeways are closed. It normally takes me 30 minutes to get home from work, but it took me 2 hours. It was almost like driving to Utah which I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. All the fancy sports cars were struggling and all my co workers had to leave their cars at work because they live on a hill and supposedly needed chains...haha Anyway the next morning was sunny and all the red cliffs which they call Mountains were covered in snow. I got to work extra early and no one showed up until noon because the roads were too bad. Oh and all the schools closed. HA I could have slept in. It definately made it feel a little more like Christmas time.


Oh and before Christmas is over I better show some more pictures of our Christmas festivities shared with The Aston family. We went to The Magical Forest and it was amazing. Bonnie and I got to have story time with Mrs. Claus

and then we went on a sleigh ride. Al wanted it to be more. We met the ole lady that lived in a shoe. I've always wondered who she is.

Tis The Season

The last two weeks have been filled with exciting events. Last weekend we did the Las Vegas Great Santa Run with some friends. It's this huge crazy 1mile race where everyone dresses like Santa . They were trying to beat last years numbers so it would be put in the Guiness Book Of World Records for most people dressed like Santa. I think the final numbers were 6,119 Santas, but it seemed like a lot more were there.
Bonnie came up with our team name "The Naughty List" which I thought was the best one there. Good Job Bonnie Su!! So the race was ridiculous. It wasnt really a race and there were so many people walking you couldnt even run if you wanted to. People were smoking, drinking beer out of their 4 ft tall glasses,walking on stilts, but then again we are in Vegas. Here are some pictures.

The Santa outfits we got were a little too big....lol I think they used the one size fits all rule.


It was an exhausting 1 mile race, but we had lot of entertainment and fans on the way to the finish line. We saw Siegfried and Roy which was pretty cool.

After the race I had to tell AL he couldnt be Santa Clause anymore and needed to take off his outfit. He was having so much fun!! Kids kept looking at him all confused because they have never seen a skinny Santa. Ho Ho HO
We worked up such a big appetite from the 1 mile Santa run we decided to go to the seafood buffet at The Rio....mmmmm so much crab and lobster. The lobster wasnt really that great compared to the all you can eat lobster we had in Costa Rica. I think that lobster was a little fresher there since we were sitting next to the ocean.
Al was excited the other day when we bought his holiday Egg Nog and RockStar so he could make the creation he thought of on his mission "Rock Nog." He says something like its great because you get the holiday cheer with the energy buzz of a RockStar...lol
I don't like Egg Nog and I have to admit its pretty good. I reccomend trying it. You will need to call Al for the recipe.

I have to say it doesnt really seem like Christmas time here with the sun shining and palm trees blowing in the dusty wind. To get us in the holiday spirit I've been asking around for Christmas activities. On Friday I talked Bonnie and Jarom into going to see Christmas lights. Our first stop was dinner because husbands are'nt happy if their tummys are empty. We went to eat at this really good Indian restaurant named Tamba on the strip. I still like the Bombay House better in SLC
Afterwards we walked around for a bit and saw a pretty Christmas tree, Elvis that asked for money because we took a picture with him when in reality he should have been paying us, and we also saw really big Christmas ornaments??


Interesting right?? Our next stop was Ethel M Chocolate Factory. Al and I tried to take a picture in front of the sign, but couldnt seem to get it right.


Oh wait here is one we both look normal in.
I finally realized we live in Las Vegas while I was looking at Christmas lights on Cactuses. I'm still trying to figure out how they wrapped the lights around them. It was pretty impressive.

While we were walking around the Cactus Garden I found a cactus with red lights. This might not mean anything to you, but my favorite tree at Temple Square is big pine tree they cover with red lights. They kind of look pink here, but they were red.

Just when you thought we were done we made one last step to Sunset Park and drove through the famous light display that supposedly goes to a radio station. It didnt come in that well so DJ Cameron put on some techno which was sweet. The lights werent amazing, but it was cool to see.

Last but not least we were doing some Christmas shopping last night and we saw Umberto Brenes sleeping in Hollister at the front of the store. For those of you that dont know who Umberto is like I didn't until Al said "whoa thats Umberto he is a way famous poker player, hurry take a picture." I turned off my flash and this is as clear as I could get
