China Town In L.A.

Last week we decided to check out China Town and find a Chinese restaurant to eat dinner at. We got there around 7pm and China Town was dead with tumbleweeds blowing through the streets. The only place that seemed to have any sort of civilization was a place called The Garage. It was this random clothing store like DI with racks and racks of random clothes. Some of them had the tags torn out, but the best part was everything was like XS and only $1-$5. Can't beat that.

After we took our stroll through The Garage we looked for a restaurant that might have decent food. We walked by this beauty with black windows and when we opened the door every table was full. Aha so this is where everyone was.
We were pretty impressed with our find because they had pictures all over the wall with tons of famous people that had eaten there which means the food is good!!
Al, Aaron, Celia, ME enjoying our authentic Chinese dinner in China Town. It was delicious!! Another great thing about California is Thrifty's ice cream in Rite Aid. I guess Rite Aid bought out Thrifty's and kept their ice cream in all their stores. It's $1 for a scoop and it's Coldstone delicious.

Yay for Thrifty Ice Cream!!

Inside the Box

My new necklace....A key to Al's heart :)

1 Year = Paper

Al and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on Friday!! We decided to do the traditional anniversary gifts by year.
1-Paper
2-Cotton
3-Leather
4-Fruit and Flowers
5-Wood
6-Candy
7-Copper and Wool
8-Bronze
9-Pottery
10-Tin
Paper was tons of fun. I got Al a book and tickets to a USC game and he got me books, cards, and the pretty blue box on top with something inside of course:)

We miss Vegas so much we decided to spend our anniversary there, but secretly it was because I had tickets to see Britney Spears all summer. We stayed in a suite at the Venetian, but pretty sure all the rooms in the Venetian are suites. Now if someone says that you will know. We had dinner at Yellowtail in the Bellagio and went to see O afterwards.

This statue at O was only 98,000
The crazy weird clowns at every Cirque show

O was awesome. The music was beautiful and all the scenes were amazing. After the show we walked through the conservatory. They have this creepy tree that has eyes and they look so real. Then his eyebrows start moving and he talks....hahah It was Never Ending Story weird.
There is this mini Bellagio exhibit with every detail you could imagine including fountains.
Happy anniversary to us!! I love you Al. On Saturday we met up with Bonnie and Jarom for lunch at our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It's only $4 for a huge bowl of Pho. All the places we have found in L.A. are at least $8 or more, but I guess when your rent goes up $1000, Pho goes up $4
I was trying to think of something we never did in Vegas while we lived there and I remembered the Swapmeet I was always trying to get Al to go to. It costs $1 to get into which is such a good deal....hahah The Swapmeet was even more ghetto than I expected it to be. They sell anything from snakes to swords.

The snake section was a little creepy especially when they opened a fridge and there were tons of frozen rats and mice. EWWWWWWWWWWWW I get the chills thinking about it.

The complimetary sucker on the way out. I haven't had one for years and most likely those have been sitting there that long. Later that night we met up with Chad and Danielle to begin the celebration of Britney Spears. Chad and Al might have not known that, but that was our plan. We ate dinner at Dick's at The Excalibur. Dick's is a restaurant where they are basically a Dick to you.
Al took me there in San Antonio on the Riverwalk...romantic right:) This one in Vegas is soooo busy. It's hard to understand why anybody would want to go to a restaurant where they throw things at you and make fun of you, but people love it. I think we were one of their low key groups because we weren't drinking. Speaking of drinks, this is what you get when your table orders 3 waters.

Part of the interview process for waiters must be creativity because the hats they make are so thoughtful.

Sorry about the vulgarity, but now it's time to post pictures from Britney. There isn't really much to say besides the show was amazing. Britney is so talented and not to mention totally hot.

What more could you expect?? It's Britney Bitch

7

Today I drove on a freeway that had 7 lanes including the carpool lane.....no joke. It was intense.

New Adventures

After graduating college I always assumed I would have a job because I had a degree. Here I am 4 years later applying for retail jobs because full time jobs don't exist unless you have a connection or know someone. Anyway I'm proud to say out of a group interview of 18 girls I got a job at Americana at Brand. It's like Gateway on Steroids.I will be working at Anthropologie. Ahhhh I love this store and the best part is I get a discount at Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and Free People. I figure I will be saving as much as I made at a real job with my discount, so it will most likely even out.
Here's to finding a part time job!!
