Birthday Extravaganza

After months of planning Alex's 1st Birthday, it finally happened.  We decided to have it in Utah so our families could be there.  I had no idea what theme to do, but thanks to the Internet I decided to have a  Dr Seuss themed party.  I bought all the designs from a lady off Etsy, but that still made a lot of printing, cutting, and other work for me to do :)   This was the invitation.
.
This was the sign I had hanging as everyone walked into the party
I There was a sign in table with the Dr Seuss Happy Birthday To You book that everyone signed as they walked in.  The sign next to the book said Looky before you take off (or we give you the hook).  Please write a message in my guest book!  Alex
We had a photo booth with props that consisted of a Dr Seuss hat, a Dr Seuss stuffed animal, and a blue feather boa (Thing 1&2).  Al's mom made the cute back drop.  I really wish I lived closer so I could learn to sew.
The Happy Birthday Banner I made
Alex's I AM 1 highchair banner.
Decorations
This party gave me a good reason to buy more Dr Seuss Books
Table Decorations

The kids table where there was Dr Seuss pictures for them to color.
I've always wanted to have a candy bar and this was my chance
The menu was:
Yertle's Chocolate Turtle "Pretzel Rods"
Thing 1&2 Oreo Truffles "Oreo Truffles"
ABC'S Of Seuss Cookies "Sugar Cookies"
Katroo Cake "The Cake"
Valley of Vungs Rocks " Rock Candy Suckers"
WhooFoo Fluff On A Stick "Marshmallow Pops"
1 Fish, 2 Fish, Lots Of Red Fish "Swedish Fish"
Thingamabobs "Gumballs"
Sally's Sweets "Red Vines"
I'm so bummed I didn't get a good picture of all the desserts on the table.  If you look closely at the sugar cookies it says Alex #1 (Al's grandma is amazing).  This picture is also missing the cute blue Oreo Truffles that Al's Aunt Paula made.
I made the Marshmallow pops which I think turned out good.
Alex's Smash cake with Cotton Candy on top for Thing 1&2, so cute.
The big cake which I loved.  My friend Shantel made it and did an amazing job.
One more picture of the Candy Bar
I also had this sign on the table that said Guess How Many Candies Are In The Jar?  If You're the Winner You'll Take Them Home In You're Car.  Everyone was supposed to write their guess and put it in the fishbowl next to the candy.
The Food Table was fabulous.  The menu was
Horton's Ham Sandwiches "Ham Sandwiches"
Green Eggs "Deviled Eggs" (Thanks Mom)
Truffula Fruit "Strawberries On A Stick"
Oodles of Noodles "Pasta Salad"
Skipper Zips Chips "Potato Chips"
Fox's French Onion Dip "French Onion Dip"
Assorted Green's & Other Things "Vegetable Tray"
I had an empty plate that said A Crumb That Was Even Too Small For A Mouse
Fish In A Pot "Goldfish Crackers"
Diffendoofer Frog Eye Salad "Frog Eye Salad"

and the drink station.
The Choices were
Pink Ink Yink Drink "Strawberry Lemonade"
Beezlenut Splash "Juice Boxes"
Water Too "Water Bottles"
My mom printed, cut, and applied all the water bottle labels, thank you.
Hopefully everyone that drank one made sure to read the ingredients :)
The game for kids was Pin the Heart On The Grinch.  A big thanks to my friend Megan who drew The Grinch.

and the take home gift was a bag of red and blue taffy with a sticker of Alex that said Thank you for stopping by, please enjoy this sugar high.
Thanks so much to everyone that helped with the party.  It's a little tricky to throw a party in a different state, but everything turned out perfect and even though Alex won't remember it, I will :).
