Al was supposed to go on a long bike ride to Santa Monica on the 4th, but since he hurt his knee he got stuck with us. As much as I love having him with us I keep hoping that he has a miraculous recovery and can start going on those rides again to help him with his Ironman next month. We started out the 4th by meeting some friends at the Sierra Madre parade. Next year I need to invest in something red or blue for my wardrobe :)
Alex and Hazel hugging.
All of the girls.
The group
Some of my favs from the parade were Mama Pete on her Rascal
The mermaid belly dancer
Orville Redenbacher look alike on his bike.
One of the prettiest flags I've ever seen.
After naps we went to a BBQ and that evening we took advantage of our prime location to the Rose Bowl and went to stake out our spot for fireworks. On our way we found this guy selling lime and coconut shaved ice. The coconut had fresh shredded coconut and the lime had little chunks of lime, so delish.
You can tell how much I love to eat by how wide I've gotten, oh boy. Pregnancy is not nice to my body.
Laura and Eric grew up in LA so they know all the prime spots for everything. They took us to their secret spot to watch the Rose Bowl fireworks.
While we were waiting for fireworks to start Alex decided to poop so clearly it was Al's turn. I love this picture, I wish it was clearer.
Waaaaaiting for fireworks to start with 3 impatient little boys.
and how amazing is this view, our new spot for fireworks. Happy 4th Everyone!!
