Trunk Or Treat

When did Trunk or Treats get so big and why weren't they around when I was a kid? It's the safest and fastest way to get candy....really it's genius. We hadn't been to our new ward yet and thought it might be a little strange showing up to Trunk or Treat so we had one last Hoorah with the Glendale 1st ward and went to theirs. Luckily I have creative friends and stole this costume idea from my friend Tonya. Alex as a duck and Al and I as duck hunters.
This picture is wrong in so many ways, but we thought it would be funny to throw Alex up in the air and "pretend" to shoot our duck. Maybe no one is laughing except for us.....
There was a eat the donut off a string contest which was hilarious to watch
and a eat a powdered donut and don't lick your lips contest which most people including Al were able to do.
There was a spook alley the YW and YM put together. Aaron watched Alex for Al and I while we went on a 10 minute date and left some pics on my phone for me. Thanks Aaron
Uncle Coby took Alex around to the trunks and got candy for us.
Madison and Alex grabbing at each others costumes. Babies are so cute. Another successful Trunk Or Treat!!

Halloween Weekend

Last weekend we were chaperones for a USC Kappa exchange. There is nothing that makes you feel older than to sit at a dance and watch a bunch of college kids drink and dance the night away. This exchange was at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. It's a ridiculous club/hotel/gym that you have to pay $100,000 to be a member of. The dance/bar area looked just like the game Clue, so it made for a really cool Halloween party.
Al and I got really creative and dressed up as Dr's. He wasn't down to be Hef again and I didn't really want to compare my pregnant body to all the pretty college girls so I agreed that scrubs would be perfect. There were several times throughout the night that college boys came up to us and asked us if we were real Dr's? I couldn't help but laugh and think wow they are totally voting for prop 19 (marijuana legalization). Why would real Dr's be at a sorority dance? There were so many cute costumes. Here is a pic of some of the girls I'm an advisor for dressed up as Candy Land characters.
On Saturday we went to the UCLA game and scored sweet seats from a scalper.
All the cheerleaders were dressed up as Disney couples, so fun.
Than we gave up our seats to sit by Al's boss on the other side of the stadium.
Yay for UCLA football gamesLater that night we went to our wards trunk or treat party. Al and I decided to decorate our trunk this year since we are primary teachers. We were so cool we even had Halloween music playing. Where were trunk or treats when we were kids? Best and fastest way to get candy for sure.
On Halloween we decided to go to the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval. It began as a gay and lesbian event in the 80's, but it's gotten so big that anyone and everyone comes (500,000 people). There were soooo many creative costumes. I'm not sure what some of the costumes were and some I would rather not say, so if you can't figure it out, it's probably better that way. (that totally rhymed).

Sushi chefs from the oil spill

No idea, but these guys were getting so much attention.
The crowd of 500,000 people
Rather not say
This guy had pepperonis on his nipples....lol
rather not say
This guy was a "One Night Stand" complete with his gf or bf in the blue dress next to him.
These guys were hilarious. They pulled a little red wagon around with a boom box blasting Tina Turner music.
Pee Wee Herman and after I asked him for a picture I realized he was just as creepy as the real Pee Wee.
Al and I as Dr's again.and my work Halloween party. The 80's Accounting team, Happy Halloween!!
