Tastes of Life

On Friday night we went to Roys Hawaiian Fusion. This is one of our new favorite restaurants. Their food is soooo good. Al and I both agreed it is better than Flemings and Ruths Chris. The presentation of the food is beautiful and the flavors are amazing.
We had an ahi tuna appetizer that was delicous.

I had salmon and it was amaizng.
There is one time that I had salmon comparable to this and that was in Vancouver during Salmon spawning season. The color of the salmon was awesome and the goat cheese and beets just added to the flavor.
I bet you can't guess what Al had....STEAK. It was also really good.
And we can't go to dinner without having dessert. People were starting to look over at us at this point and wonder why I was taking pictures of all our food. BLOGGING
On Saturday we went to Seinfeld with Kristin and Kris.
WE LOVE Seinfeld!! They were making everyone check their cameras at the door which is totally lame, but they only found 1 out of 2 of my cameras. I was able to get a few pics

Best weekend ever!!

Random Moments With The Camerons

Everytime we go to a casino without fail I get Id'd. I've been Id'd for ordering water, Red Bull, and for just standing there behind the table watching people gamble. I don't get it...lol Al always laughs when they say excuse me Ma'am and I say let me guess you want to see my ID. Al tried to take a picture of Jenna and I getting Id'd the other night watching Ross and Serene play craps, but it came out blurry. Dang it.

This is Ross and I doing math calculations on The Big Wheel. For those of you that aren't familiar with this intellectual game go hereI always thought I was good at mini golf until Al and I went to play at a real golf course with real greens, hills, and sandtraps(everything mini of course). I knew I was off to a great start when the first ball I hit went into a mini sandtrap. Here I am combing the sand
I found a mini frog on the mini golf course
The spotlights were so intense on the golf course my pictures didn't turn out quite as planned and to make matters worse I didn't have the Nikon with me. I apologize for the quality.

My highlight of the week was getting a call from Stacy asking if I wanted two boxes of free Xango. That means 8 bottles of Mangosteens all for ME!! Keep in mind Al doesn't believe in this and calls it Scamgosteen, but all the better because that means more for me. Ever since I've been drinking it I've developed muscles I never knew I had. To prove it here I am carrying my two massive boxes of Xango!! Thank you for thinking of me Stacy:)
Another exciting event was the purchase of my new Basil plant. Ever since Stacy let me have a plot of land at the Dearborn Chateau last summer I have wanted to plant a garden. However living in Vegas doesn't really grant you that opportunity, so I bought a Basil plant from Trader Joes last week and have been putting fresh basil in everything.
This plant produces enough for me and all our neighbors, but the people that live below us would probaly smoke it rather than use it for food. Here I am harvesting my foilage.

I hope I can keep it alive in our house. Al keeps shutting the blinds, so it doesn't get hot in our house during the day and I keep telling him they need to stay open for MY PLANT. Plants need light too and in return they give us oxygen. Do boys ever learn?
Al tells me I'm bossy and ironically last night we found a license plate that said MSBOSSY and he said too bad it's taken because we would put that on your car.....HAHAHHA
Danielle signed us up for a free showing of 500 Days Of Summer.

Little did we know that all of Nevada signed up too. The line was sooo long and I don't know how we got so lucky, but we got the last 4 seats!! Al and Chad sat together, so Danielle and I could enjoy the show without hearing their comments throughout the movie like when we saw My Sisters Keeper. The best part was all the cute clothes Zooey Deschanel got to wear in the movie. I found one of her dresses on this website

I randomly came across a website that was giving a free subscription to Parents Magazine. It came in the mail the other day and Al looked at me a little weird, but in a couple years when we hopefully have at least one GIRL this magazine will have given me some sort of advice I can use. Thank you Parents Magazine.
THE END!!

Viva Las Vegas Part Deux

Last week Al had to go to Utah for work and then on Wednesday he left for camp with Young Mens. He promised me he would buy a waterproof camera, so I would have blog material when he got back. I need to get him some Ginkgo Biloba because he forgets important things like that as well as putting clothes in the dryer:)
They hiked the Narrows on Thursday and finished all 16 miles.
I thought I was going to be bored out of my mind while he was gone, but I ended up working at Ann Taylor every night and then one of my long lost friends from 4th grade came to visit me for the weekend. ASPEN!!
We had so much fun and I think I did my job by wearing her out. I had some other friends in town from Utah and LA, so we met up with them on Friday and went to Blush and XS.

On Saturday while Al was at Brianhead moutain biking and paintballing
we went to Peppermill for breakfast.
Not only is this restaurant fun to eat at because it's so tacky inside, but they have the best food.
Did you know they make their own sugar? They have these clear bottles on the table with colored(I thought they were beads), but it's sugar crystals...lol You can see the bottle behind the napkin
and this is what the sugar looks like in your hand.
Afterwards we went to the pool with everyone and the best part was we dressed Breck up as a European. He even had a purse....lol

I discovered a new pool called Azure at the Palazzo. It's like Tao Beach, but way better. Ross and I went to go check it out and I'm so glad we did because guess who was hosting??
Melissa from the Bachlorette and her new Fiance. I hope someone appreciates this picture as much as me. She is just as cute in person. Love Love Love her!!

Azure has the best view of the strip. Check it out!!
Some guy was getting a massage and I was so jealous. What is better than getting a massage to house music?? Ummmm nothing.Aspen and I saw this guy we knew from elementary school walk by us at the pool. Soooo random and if he wasn't on facebook we wouldn't have recognized him. Of course we got a pic:)
Later that night we were way lucky and got free tickets to see Aerosmith and ZZ Top. People watching was probably better than the concert. Jenna and I rocked out with our Zippo ligher iPhone app.
Before Aspen left we had another great breakfast at Blueberry Hill. Our waitress loooved Apsen. She couldn't believe she drove all the way to Vegas by herself. She was trying to pack a lunch and water for her to take on the drive home. She gave us a big hug and kiss on the cheek when we left.

Thanks for coming to visit Aspen. It was so good to see you!!

Summer Fun

Last week Bonnie and I went to this restaurant we've been wanting to try forever. Swish. I think they were trying to copy Melting Pot, but it was a weak attempt. However being that Melting Pot went out of business in Vegas and Swish is still in business that could also mean something. I wasn't a huge fan of the food and definately won't be going back anytime soon, but now I can stop bugging Al to take me there...haha Anyway it was fun to get to hang out with Bonnie and see her cute new blonde hair.
I discovered a great new recipe and if your reading this you have to try it.
Frozen Lemonade Pie
Prep Time: 5 min Inactive Prep Time: 24 hr 0 min Cook Time: 7 min Level: Serves:
8 servings
Ingredients
Graham Cracker Crust:
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
7 tablespoons butter, melted
Lemonade filling:
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk, chilled
1 (12 ounce) container whip topping, thawed
1 (6 fluid ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, keep frozen
1 teaspoon candied lemon peel
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In medium bowl, combine cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup of sugar, and the melted butter. Press firmly on bottom and up sides of pie plate. Bake for 7 minutes and let cool completely.

In a medium bowl, add chilled sweetened condensed milk and cool whip and fold gently. Add frozen lemonade and continue to gently fold. Do not let the mixture become soupy. Pour mixture into the pie crust and freeze overnight. Garnish with candied lemon peel.
**I think thin slices of fresh lemon taste and look better then the candied lemon peel**

Summer Oh Nineeee

Due to the high number of no responses for my quiz "What Movie Title Are You" I will not be posting answers. I guess everyone wants to continue to take the lame Facebook quizzes.

We just got back from a weekend of fun in Fish Lake which is in Richfield, Utah. Al's entire extended family has gone for the last 17 years.
Being the avid fisherwoman and camper I am, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I've only fished once in my life and that was at Fish Lake two years ago with Al:) I guess I can blame my mom for not taking me on fishing trips as a child and giving me barbies instead.
Al and I were glad to get away from the Vegas heat for the third weekend in a row. Fish Lake is beautiful!! I appreciate scenery like that even more now that I live in dry, hot, and desolate Las Vegas.
Here are some pics of us fishing. Al tried to get me to kiss the first fish I caught, but it wasn't happening. I can bait my hook and catch them, but after that Al has to do everything for me. Another great reason why I married him(the list just keeps getting longer).
The second day Al's neck was so sunburned he wore this bandanna(WEAR SUNSCREEN.) I couldn't stop laughing because he looked so ridiculous. Then there is Trevor who wore a sweatshirt in the middle of the day and a tanktop at night?? I don't get it.
Here is a pic of us with our Fishys(left to Right) Kaj, Nikki, Ryker, Al, and last, but not least ME.
We saw a Rainbow one night and had the best Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler. So yummy!!

When we went two years ago we found a really cool look out place, so we decided to go back, but it was sooo cold and windy this time.
Funny story....Last time Al told Trevor if he could catch a cow and smack its butt he would buy him a steak dinner. Here is the video I posted on YouTube because it's pretty much the funniest thing ever.
The last night we were there Al, Kaj, and Trevor thought it would be cool to build a fire as tall as the mountains. Again a boy thing I don't understand.
We had tons of Reeses Smores and they were delish
More Fish Lake fun to come next year.
