Memories

On our drive home from San Francisco we stopped in Tracy, CA to see where Al lived until he was 11. It's rare for Al to stop anywhere on a road trip, so it was a good to get out and stretch the legs and reminisce with Al. They lived in this townhouse during the 1989 California Earthquake when the Bay Bridge collapsed.
Then they moved across the street to this house. The same neighbors still lived next door, so we stopped by and said hi.
The elementary school he went to until 5th grade

It's always fun to look back.

Race Day

This year was a little different because I had Al watching the race with me. 3 of Al's friends and dad got into the race, but Al didn't. I will say it was great to have him help me carry around Alex. Before the race we parked in front of the cutest house with flowers in the middle of their driveway. I loved it so much I took a picture
The Cameron's ready to cheer on Al, Brian, Jeff, and Ross.
We were worried because the weather was awful the day before, but luckily the weather turned out to be perfect.
Alcatraz with the ferry the triathletes jump off of to the right
Golden Gate Bridge
This year was crazy because they miscalculated where the ferry dropped the triathletes. They s weren't supposed to go past those yellow booies, but almost 70% got carried past them.
They had the Coastguard and boats watching to make sure no one got carried out to far.
I didn't do great with taking pictures this year, but it's mostly because Al wasn't doing the race.

Watching a triathlon with a baby is a little more complicated. I got to feed Alex on a bench in the park next to a homeless guy. It got really awkward when he winked at me. Alex is really into standing the last couple of weeks. In fact that's all he wants to do....stand, sit, stand, sit, so we did that during the bike portion of the race.
Brian during the run.
Al giving me a break from Alex.....Part of me was kind of glad he didn't get into the race, so he could help me:) Sorry Al, there is always next year
And then there are the fans that take it too far. Why is a guy wearing a bikini top?
Ross finishing the race
Al 4 finishing the race
The Godfather gave Alex his medal, so sweet.
Aunt Lexi and Alex
#4 & #6. We finally figured out where Alex's widows peak came from....#4
Fisherman's Wharf
Lunch with everyone before we made the fun drive home. By the way Alex did great on the car ride to and from San Francisco. He is the best baby EVER!!

San Fran

Last weekend we went to San Francisco to watch some friends and family do the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. I figured since it was Alex's first time in the city he needed to see the Golden Gate Bridge.

Babies make every picture so much cuter. So glad he's ours.

One thing I've never done in San Francisco is see the house from Full House. Funny story....we were parked in front of the house trying to take pictures while a car was behind us. Al tried to wave them around us until she motioned that she lived there. oops
The main thing I wanted to see was the Painted Ladies, so here I finally am with my cute husband and son. I need to type that more often because it's still hard to believe we have a son.
and here's part of the gang minus the Camerons
Al wanted Italian one night so we had dinner in Little Italy at a restaurant we found on Yelp. Too bad it wasn't one of those high rated restaurants on Yelp that was actually good. By the look on Alex's face he didn't like the food either.
Alex loves to be held on your shoulder while you walk. He is a really alert baby and looks around at everything.
I just realized this is a super long post, but we did a lot in the 2 days we were there. Here is the famous Coit Tower Al and I already have 2 pictures in front of, but now my excuse is "Alex isn't in them."
We tried to eat at Mama's for breakfast the first day we were there, but the line was around the block. We went back the next day and got there 10 minutes before it opened and this was still the line.
The food was totally worth it.....my breakfast
and Al's sweet breakfast

Alex with his Godfather Ross
After breakfast we met Al's family at Bob's Donuts. You have to order these babies the day before. We ordered 1 donut for every 2 people which turned out to be way too much.

The best was watching Trevor and Coby eat one. Every bite was like 1 regular size donut. Afterwards we found out that they have a contest for who can eat the donut the fastest. I wish we would have known about it because it would have been the perfect contest for Trevor to enter.

You can't go to San Francisco with the Cameron's without stopping at Ghiradelli. Trevor ordered 1 regular sundae and 1 small sundae, but Ghiradelli doesn't have sizes so he got two regulars and finished them both!! I think he deserves a picture on the wall.
I was able to meet up with my friend Curtis from high school. It's always fun to catch up with old friends. Love San Francisco

Sculpture Gardens

Last week we took a field trip to the sculpture gardens at UCLA. It wouldn't be anything I would recommend seeing, but it was a good day to enjoy the sunshine and walk around campus.
The best thing about the gardens was they were full of my favorite purple trees. If we would have gone a week or two earlier they would have been in full bloom.
Alex loved looking at the sculptures in his Bjorn
Kristin is moving in a couple weeks and we sure are going to miss her.
This next picture was taken for Al to prove that it is possible to carry more than one thing besides Alex.
and we couldn't go to Westwood without stopping at Diddy Reise. Even Alex was excited.
