Grandma Love

What happens when you don't sleep at night?  Naturally you sleep in the car at 10am on the way to the airport.  

The Jacaranda trees are in full bloom all over LA and they are so beautiful.  I snapped this picture at the Long Beach Airport right before we picked up my mom.

It's always a treat when Grandma comes to town and what perfect timing to have your flight land at 11:30AM.  That means you have to stop at Cafe Rio on the way home and have a yummy lunch.

That afternoon we went and walked around Old Town, ate some french macaroons, and had a yummy Thai dinner.  Alex was so happy to have his Grandma back.

My mom slept in Alex's room and it was so nice to get a full night rest for 4 nights.  

On Thursday we went to Disneyland.  We hit all the rides in Fantasyland with short lines. Coles first time on Dumbo, way exciting!!

Cole did so good the entire day.  Every time he got fussy I put him in his car seat, he would cry for a few minutes and then just go to sleep.  Love that baby and his chubby thighs.

Have you ever seen someone at Disneyland eating with their shirt off?  Alex won't wear a bib or put a napkin on his lap so I take his shirt off so there wasn't mac and cheese dripped down the front of it.  I've never seen him eat so much and it was healthy if you subtract the mac and cheese :)

We went on a few more rides after lunch until they both passed out and then we headed over to California Adventure.  We hit all the little rides in A Bug's Land.  

We watched the Pixar parade which Alex loved.  When he saw all the Toy Story characters he kept saying Toy Story.  I was worried it was going to be too hot, but there was a nice breeze all day and it turned out to be great.

Before we left I was nursing Cole on a bench and Micky Mouse walked by. Why not get another picture!! I love Cole and Alex in this picture, I wish I knew what they were thinking.

Al was in San Diego for work and his dad happened to be too.  They went to dinner and had their favorites at Ghiradelli, yum.

Last weekend we went to San Francisco to watch some friends and family do the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. I figured since it was Alex's first time in the city he needed to see the Golden Gate Bridge.

Babies make every picture so much cuter. So glad he's ours.

One thing I've never done in San Francisco is see the house from Full House. Funny story....we were parked in front of the house trying to take pictures while a car was behind us. Al tried to wave them around us until she motioned that she lived there. oops

The main thing I wanted to see was the Painted Ladies, so here I finally am with my cute husband and son. I need to type that more often because it's still hard to believe we have a son.

Al wanted Italian one night so we had dinner in Little Italy at a restaurant we found on Yelp. Too bad it wasn't one of those high rated restaurants on Yelp that was actually good. By the look on Alex's face he didn't like the food either.

Alex loves to be held on your shoulder while you walk. He is a really alert baby and looks around at everything.

I just realized this is a super long post, but we did a lot in the 2 days we were there. Here is the famous Coit Tower Al and I already have 2 pictures in front of, but now my excuse is "Alex isn't in them."

We tried to eat at Mama's for breakfast the first day we were there, but the line was around the block. We went back the next day and got there 10 minutes before it opened and this was still the line.

After breakfast we met Al's family at Bob's Donuts. You have to order these babies the day before. We ordered 1 donut for every 2 people which turned out to be way too much.

The best was watching Trevor and Coby eat one. Every bite was like 1 regular size donut. Afterwards we found out that they have a contest for who can eat the donut the fastest. I wish we would have known about it because it would have been the perfect contest for Trevor to enter.

You can't go to San Francisco with the Cameron's without stopping at Ghiradelli. Trevor ordered 1 regular sundae and 1 small sundae, but Ghiradelli doesn't have sizes so he got two regulars and finished them both!! I think he deserves a picture on the wall.

I was able to meet up with my friend Curtis from high school. It's always fun to catch up with old friends. Love San Francisco

I left my heart in San Francisco

We went to San Francisco last weekend for Al's triathlon. I don't do well on road trips so, I like to take pictures, clean out the glove box, play DJ, and anything else I can do to pass time. Driving through The Grapevine.

This cow farm really got to me. The smell and thought of those poor cows made me consider being a vegetarian....at least for 10 minutes. I could totally live without meat as long as I had fish. Did someone really pay extra for this license plate? hahah even I can run a 5k
On Saturday morning while Al, his dad, and Ross went to some meetings for their race, the rest of us went and walked around San Francisco. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We stayed in Fishermans Wharf so the seals were practically our neighbors. We had to go say hi.
They are really entertaining in the mornings.
If I was a seal I would be like this big guy right here.....I love laying in the sun.
They must have bad dreams because he randomly freaked out and dove in the water.

We walked through China Town and marveled at all the food. Especially these birds that look just like Terradactyls. Where do you even get these from and who wants to eat that?
Don't worry this is totally sanitary. At least they are wearing gloves. This one really got to me.... A turtle :(I really don't understand how fish can sit there all day in the open air with people walking by breathing on it.

Some of our friends told us about Bob's Donuts. They were our of their huge donuts.

How can you be out of these babys?Chad, Lexi, and I had dinner at Boudin at Fishermans Wharf. Their sourdough bread was just as good as it smells when you walk by.
We finished the night with Ghiradelli. I'm not a huge ice cream fan, so I had their sea salt carmel hot chocolate and it was pretty amazing.
