Christmas Travels

We had a great time in freeezing Utah.  Alex is a frequent flyer these days so he did great on the plane.  Al loaded a bunch of Baby Einstein on his iPad for our long flight to Hawaii, but Alex also enjoyed them on the flight to SLC.
He wasn't sure about the headphones, but he didn't take them out.
Our arrival to SLC greeted by Grandma Ranes with Alex's very own Santa hat!!
I always feel popular when we go to Utah because we have plans lined up for almost every day and every night.  We had dinner with my family at Toscano one night.
Lots of quality time with GRANDMA!!
The best part about this next picture is he didn't have a diaper on....lol   I couldn't resist.
A date night with Al thanks to my mom.  We don't get to go on a lot of dates without Alex so it's that much more exciting when we do.  I totally forgot about free parking for the holidays.  I think every state should have this!!
We had dinner at Market Street Grill
Loved all their decorations
Yummy Oyster Rockefeller.
We went to Hatch Family Chocolates after dinner.  We drove to their old location which I didn't know had moved.  I had one of their $6 hot chocolates which was amazing.  Al was mad they were out of brownies for the brownie sundae so he ordered a bunch of chocolates.  He obviously didn't see the sign $28 per lb, so our $20 bill for one hot chocolate and 4 chocolates was a little ridiculous.  Hatch used to be a cool trendy place to get ice cream when I went to the U because the Hatch family who are midgets used to serve you (that's not why it was cool...lol).  I heard they had a show on TLC, so now they are famous and their chocolates are over priced.  I guess I'm over my days of Hatch Family Chocolates.    On our way back I talked Al into stopping at the Grand America to see the Gingerbread House display.  What I didn't know was that it was only one Gingerbread House....whooops....haha  Besides that it was a fabulous date with my husband, thanks mom!!
We attended my Aunt Sarah's Birthday/Christmas Party

The Girls
We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Brio Tuscan Grille with some of our favorite friends.

Alex and his crooked smile that he does when he's being silly.
Quality time with his Great Aunt Liz.
Church with Grandma Ranes in his new red bow tie.
and my Christmas present that came early since we spent Christmas in Hawaii.  I was bummed I couldn't take the big brown box with me,
but I did keep the big brown purse inside!!

Family Pictures

Now that our Christmas cards are mailed out and hopefully all delivered I can share the rest of our family pictures. I'm kind of bummed she didn't get a good one of Alex and I, but I'm sure we will have more family pictures taken in the future :) Enjoy

Alex just wanted to crawl around and put sticks in his mouth.  I loved his gray boots, but he wouldn't keep them on so he is barefoot in most of the pictures.

Most of the pictures Alex is smiling is because I was singing Itsy Bitsy Spider.  I think we were all sick of that song by the time we were done taking pictures.
One of my favorites.

The End!!

Party Time

Last week we celebrated our friend Victoria's Birthday at Louise Trattoria in Old Town.
Lindsay brought delicious hot chocolate cupcakes to share with everyone.
Alex pulling and eating my hair....too bad my head looks huge with short hair or I would cut it all off.
The dinner party.  Happy Birthday Victoria, thanks for celebrating with us!
Last night we went to The Phillips First Annual Tacky Christmas Party.
Al was mad I bought him a Women's vest, but I think it worked well with the whole tacky theme.
The yummy Candy Cane Cake I made that I saw on Pinterest.  That one looked perfect compared to this mess, but it tasted delicious.
Jill and Sean
The host herself Mrs Daisy Phillips
There were some great White Elephant gifts like this wicker giraffe.
Jill got the best one of the night which was an enema that looked like it was 20 years old.
We won Pippi Longstocking

I loved the mustaches Daisy made, great idea!!
We only partied for a couple hours until we had to put this little guy to bed.  He was so tired after church today he took a 3 hour nap.  I could get used to those :)

Happiest Time Of The Year

We went to Disneyland last week to enjoy all the Christmas festivities.  Alex loved it.
I thought it would be dead since we went on a Wednesday evening, but it was sooo busy.
The Christmas decor is beautiful.
Al and Alex on Main Street
The Haunted Mansion decorated for The Nightmare Before Christmas

It's A Small World had a 40 minute wait, but we had never seen it decorated for Christmas so we waited :)
Alex loves clocks and he couldn't take his eyes off the big one at it's a small world.
The decorations inside the ride, I loved it.

We also went on Pirates and Toy Story.....Al killed me as usual.  The lines to email yourself a picture  were really long, so I went to one that was short and that's why ours is in Spanish :)
The last thing we did and the most important one on my list was to watch the castle turn to winter.
It was so magical.
Afterwards it snows in front of the castle which people love.  So glad we are Annual Pass Holders now:)

Santa Claus

This week I took Alex to meet Santa Claus. He loved it and after the picture he buried his head in Santa's white fluffy fur on his coat, so cute!!

Pasadena Ward Christmas Party

Last weekend was our Ward Christmas Party. It was one of the best ones I've been too over the years.
The Program
The dinner which was enchiladas, rice, beans, and salad.
Every table had a different cake.
I wanted to try them all.  How cute is this one with  Christmas lights?

On our way out we ran into Santa which Alex wasn't sure about. It was a great Christmas party and we love our new ward.
