Christmas Vacation

Our vacation started out a little rough with me getting the flu the first day we were in Utah.  Horrible chills, aches, and vomiting, Merry Christmas to me.  Traveling with kids is no joke.  2 car seats, 3 suit cases, the Bjorn, a backpack, my purse, and a stroller.  I don't know if I will ever do it by myself.
We got to hang out in the new Long Beach airport which is amazing and actually has good food to eat now.  Alex entertaining himself. Here we are leaving sunny California for cold and snowy Salt Lake.  Alex and Cole did great on the flight.  Somehow I got stuck with Alex at a window seat.  He must have opened and shut the window 20 times, spilled animal cookies and ice all over me, and drank most of my Diet Coke all while Al was passed out next to me with Cole.
Al's Grandparents have all their grand children's baby pictures and birth date in a Christmas ornament on their tree.  I spotted Al's and think Cole looks like him.
Alex found this mini Dyson at his Grandparents and couldn't stop vacuuming.  It seriously entertained him for 30 minutes.  If it really vacuumed it would be perfect.
How great is it that Chambray shirts are back in style.  I have a school picture from 4th or 5th grade where I'm wearing one too.
The first night we were there Grandma Ranes gave Alex and Cole Christmas pajamas, so cute.
Grandma holding baby Cole.  She watched him for us a couple nights so we could go to dinner.
The 3rd day we were there I was feeling better with my new 5 year old bangs so we went to sushi.
Uncle Ryan feeding Cole a bottle.  Cole started sleeping 5-6 hours at at timein Utah, but I couldn't enjoy it because the first 2 nights I had the flu and Alex was sleeping in our room.  We had a futon on the ground for him to sleep on, but somehow Al or I ended up sleeping on it while Alex was laying horizontal in the bed.  He would also wake up around 2 or 3am every morning and not go back to sleep for an hour or so.  Needless to say it was a long 8 nights and it was so nice when we got home and he had his bedroom back. Oh and Cole is back to sleeping 3-4 hours at a time.  I've tried putting him back in his Christmas pajamas, making it cold and dark in his room.  I have to figure out what it was!!
After our Friday night date my mom had to pick up a present from City Creek so Al watched the kids while we went on a quick trip downtown.  City Creek amazes me every time I go, so beautiful.
Watching t.v. with Dad.  It's rare that he will sit still for more than 30 seconds.
Helping Grandma wrap presents and unwinding all the ribbon.
Sweet little angel Cole. If only they stayed like this forever.
Cole meeting his once removed cousin Jess
Alex's first drive thru car wash.  He loved it.

December 2012

Some more random pictures
Al decided he was going to be Alex's new hair dresser.  We put on Disney and sat him on my lap and he was very patient.  At the very end I told Al he needed to cut one spot more and that's the spot that looks questionable.
The new hairdo
Oh man where do I start with Cole and his poop.  This baby seriously goes through soooo many diapers.  I thought it slowed down around week 6 to once a day, but at week 8 he is still going strong with 2-3 times a day. This was one of the last times he got my shirt.  I thought I was faster at wiping now, but he's quick.
Alex's favorite spot to relax and eat snacks.
Bath time is a little crazy these days.
Alex and one of his tantrums.
Every Friday our ward has a music class for kids and Alex loves it.
Lately during nap time Alex wants to wear his sweats or pajamas.  I found him in his jeans with his pajamas over them...hahah
We went to Travel Town and rode the $2 train that turned into the Polar Express and was $7.
It was worth it to see that smile on Alex's face.  He was loving it!!
Alex loved the Elf
and he even sat on Santa's lap without crying.
Holding Cole, love them.
Hanging out with Dad, wish someone took pictures of me holding them.
I had to ask for this one.
Hanging out at the Dannel's house.  Hazel held Cole for like 10 minutes.
Frosting sugar cookies.
My friend Daisy and her son Jordan who is the same age of Alex were in town.  They stopped by to say hi and brought me a Boba that I spilled everywhere....haha  Love this picture of them hugging.

December Fun

I've been meaning to post these pictures for a few weeks.   Cole is so good at Tummy Time, but apparently we need to do it more because at his 6 week appointment the Dr pointed out that the left side of his head is getting a little flat.
My partner in crime that is getting busier and busier by the day.   I love everything about him.  He has his days especially when he won't listen to me, but don't we all :)
We did 12 days of Christmas for Alex so he would get the hang of opening presents.  He picked it up the first day and then we couldn't put anything under the tree until it was time to open something...haha.
Alex got sick from nursery when Cole was 1 month old.  It's so sad to see your kids sick especially when they don't really talk.  Poor Alex had a horrible fever and just wanted to lay with me which is so unlike him.  Luckily the rest of us didn't get it.
Cole is getting chubbier by the day, love that little baby.  You just want to squeeze him.
Alex loves all of Cole's toys.  Here he is sitting in his Mamaroo watching tv.  I think the Mamaroo actually had something to do with making his head flat.
My life as of late....me and the boys.
Cole hasn't been the best sleeper so he usually ends up in our bed at some point during the night.  This picture makes me laugh....both of them looking at each other.
One of Alex's expressions that I love.  He usually does this when he hears something loud or when Cole cries and I think he tries to say what is that?
Our ward Christmas party with 2 dear friends Sachia and Jenny, love them both.
and our blurry family picture.
Al sent me this during one of his surgeries after we had a long restless night with Cole
You forget how tired a little tiny baby can make you.
Brotherly love.  Sometimes Alex will want to hold Cole and it's usually for about 5 seconds.
One of our first dinners as a family of 4.  I'm ashamed to say our first dinner out was at McDonalds which I didn't take a picture of.   We got a roll with lobster and scallops and Alex was loving the lobster.  Another one of his favorite things to eat is Potstickers.
I'm very thankful for our little family.
