Dayton

Al's mission companion Mike Dayton came to visit us last weekend.  Traffic was horrible on the way to the airport so instead of fighting it on the way home we went to dinner in Long Beach.  We found a yummy Thai restaurant on Yelp and will definitely be going back.
Alex was taking pictures as usual and this one actually turned out.
The next day we had breakfast at a new find in Hollywood called Doughboys Cafe.  I was drooling over their red velvet cake but by the time we were done with our food we were too full.
Alex loved Dayton which is so rare because usually he's so shy around people he doesn't know.
So thankful Cole is mellow
This was one of the craziest street performers.  We all stood there for at least 5 minutes trying to figure out what he was sitting on.
Good ol Hollywood Blvd
We found Hollywood Mickey and Alex was saying "Mihey Mou, Mihey Mou"

When Mike was 17 he ran away from home and stayed at this Hostel for a few nights until his parents found him.
Things just get crazier and crazier.  We talked to this guy and asked why?  I said don't you want to have kids and he said I'm sure I can still have kids?
Before we left we let Alex run through the fountains until his skin was ice cold.
That night Al and Mike went to the Clippers game.  They found some guys on Craigslist selling really close seats for a decent price.  Can you tell they were wasted?  Ha they wanted Al and Mike to go party and eat dinner with them at Flemings after the game.

Sophie

I take so many pictures these days it's hard to narrow down what I want to post on the blog.  Cole just started grasping for things in your hands and being able to hold onto them last week, so I introduced him to Sophie the Giraffe.  I've heard great things about it, but I 'm not so sure how I feel about the obnoxiously loud squeaker.
We had a ward BBQ last week and Alex was in heaven playing on the playground for 2 hours.  We need to work on him eating in a social setting.
Between Cole and Alex we had 4 poopy diapers in 2 hours and one of them was a blowout.  It was crazy and Al wouldn't hold Cole normal since it was all over his shirt.
I found out the new Bachelorette Des was going to be filming at Americana so I talked Al into going.  Can't wait to watch this season.
We had dinner at BJs and Alex had his very first Pizookie, hilarious.
He didn't have sugar the first year of his life and now it's a lost cause especially with Al being his Dad.
This is Alex's new thing with Cole. He lays on top of him and kisses him.  He also has been rolling him over.  Yesterday I walked out of the room and when I came back Cole was on his tummy, but I figured out it was Alex.  Soon enough Alex will have Cole to play with.

Happy 40th

Last weekend we took Alex to Jump N Jammin.  I think it's better to go with other kids because Al and I were the ones climbing through everything and going down the slides.  I wish we had something like this in our house.
Our friend Sachia threw a surprise party for her husband Brett later that night.  Al was in on the surprise and went flying with Brett and some other guys before the party.
The party was a 1920's theme and everyone gambled with fake money of course :)
It was such a fun night with all our friends.
Al, Brett, Adam, and Wyatt
Happy Birthday Brett!!

Thanks for such a fun night Sachia!

St Patricks Day

St Patrick's Day was low key this year since it was on a Sunday and most St Patrick activities outside of Utah involve no kids and drinking heavy amounts of alcohol.  I decided to dress us all in green and  take a picture....fail.

Next on my list was I wanted a Shamrock shake from McDonalds.  The first McDonalds we went too was out of ice cream and the second one was out of the Shamrock mix.  Lesson learned don't go to McDonalds on the Sabbath.  We went to Griffith Park to find a new playground for Alex.  I've honestly never seen so many kids on one playground.  I've come to the conclusion parks are packed on the weekends because no one has backyards in LA.
We decided to take Alex on the creepy Merry Go Round that goes abnormally faster than any Merry Go Round I've ever seen.
Waiting in line with my sweet Alex.
I'm glad I rode with Alex because this thing flies.  He loved it and would yell Haaaay to Al everytime we went around.  Love that boy.
and little round Cole too.

Fog

A couple weeks ago it was almost 90 degrees in Pasadena so a few of us decided to head to the beach. I got up enough courage to take the boys by myself and meet them there.  It's always a little disappointing when you get off the freeway and see the fog.  None of us packed jackets or blankets so we bundled up in our towels and let the kids play.
Kids never seem to notice the cold.
All I had for Cole was a thin swaddling blanket so I swaddled him in a towell and luckily he fell asleep.
It was so cold and the fog never burned off.
Sienna leading Alex around
Despite the weather we had a great time and got Cafe Rio on the way home.
Later that day we had a playdate at Sachia's.  Alex came in the room with high heels and a necklace on. Should I be worried?  haha
All his clothes were wet from the pool so Sienna asked if she could dress him in her sister Hazels clothes.  I told her if Alex would let him?  I was surpised when he laid down for her.
When Alex doesn't like what I'm asking or telling him which in this case which was "come on Alex lets get in the car and go home", naturally he sits or lays down wherever he is.  This was at the bottom of Sachias driveway and look at that scowl.  We went to the beach and had a pool play date at Sachias and he still wanted more.

Paradise Falls

I've had this hike on my bucket list for awhile so on Saturday we drove to Thousand Oaks which is about 45 minutes from us.  We found the trail and saw this sign..  I feel like annoying things like this always happen, but all you can do is laugh.
We hiked towards the waterfall and looked at it from above. Alex thought it was the greatest thing to run in the dirt.
The weather was perfect

Apple juice break
We flipped Cole around in the Bjorn on the way back and he loved it.
We had lunch at Chick Fil A and then everyone but me took a nap when we got home :)
My sweet Alex at church on Sunday.  He wasn't happy about wearing that tie.
