Cancun

A trip to Mexico was long over due since our Mexican Rivera cruise last year turned out to be a disaster. We went to Cancun Mexico for 5 days and it was so beautiful. We had a 2 hour layover in Mexico city and this is probably as close as we will ever get to it.
It's the biggest city we have ever seen. Someone told us 22 million people live there.
We stayed at the Dreams all inclusive resort and it was amazing. I've heard mixed things about all inclusive and I must say we were very impressed. The first night we ate at their sushi restaurant right on the beach. As you can see my skin and hair weren't responding well to the humidity.
Our hotel was right by the strip of clubs, restaurants, and malls so we walked down there after dinner to see what was going on. Little did we know we had planned our vacation right during Spring Break, so everywhere we wanted to go was double the price. We ended up just walking around and people watching. My favorite thing was the donkey I saw in the back of a parked truck. Some guy sitting in the truck got out and asked if I wanted a picture with it. He was ready to get the donkey out of the truck, so I could pay him for a picture....hahah
We walked by all the clubs and this was my favorite one with everyone dancing with balloons. I don't know why, but I thought it looked really fun.
The next day we awoke to this=heaven. This was the view from our balcony

This plane flew over us when we were laying out and the banner says Christie I love you so much. Will you marry me? Awwwww
Another great thing about the Dreams is the dolphins. We seriously contemplated paying$150 for the dolphins to push us, but instead we just watched everyone else.

We debated between Chichen Itza and Tulum and ended up choosing Tulum since it was only a half day trip vs a full day. Tulum was amazing
Iguanas loooove Tulum. They were everywhere

My favorite part was the beach:)
Back at the Dreams.....The Swing Bar. I want one of these at our house.
Our friends from Detroit we had dinner with and met at the swing bar. Great things happen at the swing barThe beautiful blue ocean which is so much better than Californias not so blue ocean
Al made lots of friends playing Volleyball. Everyone kept asking if he played in highschool or college. He is a natural at everything he does!
Our last night in Mexico we took the bus downtown to go walk around the flea market called Mercado 28. When we got there everything was closed so we walked back to the bus stop and made a detour at Wal Mart. It was pretty entertaining to walk through a Mexican Wal Mart. We picked out some snacks we couldn't buy in California. I love spicy food....loooove it. On our way out of Wal Mart we bought a fresh tamale from a lady on the street and it was delicous.
We took one last walk through the strip of clubs and had the best taco ever.
On our last day we took advantage of the all inclusive. We did Yoga overlooking the ocean. Every yoga class should be like that
We took out the kayak
and we ate Spicy Fruit!!
Every morning the ash trays were smoothed over with sand and had the dreams logo stamped in it. By the end of the day there would be fingerprints....the same thing happens at Anthropologie with the candles. Why do people have to stick their fingers in everything? Get a HOBBY
I loved watching the dolphins everyday.
Cancun was a blast. We loved staying at the Dreams and came to the conclusion that the world should be all inclusive. Our last memorable experience in Canun was at the airport in the duty free shop. The cigarettes packs have really good advice written on the front
Maybe people will get a hint when they buy cigarettes.
