Paradise Cove

We finally made it back to Disneyland in time to see Cars Land and the Halloween decorations.  I really wanted to go on all the new rides, but the lines were crazy.  How much does this look like St George?
Ashley and I took our 11 month old and 19 month old in the Haunted Mansion.  I thought Alex would freak out, but he was fine and he liked walking on the escalator walkway after the ride.
Trying to get a picture of him smiling is impossible.  He does this face to me at least 5 times a day.  Sometimes it's to be funny and sometimes it's because he's mad.  Quite the character.

We found the drinking fountains which may have been a mistake.
All he wanted to do was play in them.
Cute little June and Alex, they look like they could be siblings.  Alex's favorite ride of the day was it's a small world.  I caught him trying to sing during it a few times.
It was a fun morning at Disneyland even though it was 90 degrees when we left.
On Tuesday we went to the Skirball museum.  I Alex him in the 3rd row of a friends car and he screamed the entire way there.  He is a creature of habit and anything out of the norm freaks him out.
One of the kids favorite things to do was to clean up fake animal poop with little brooms and mops.  Alex kept stepping on them...lol

This picture is classic....Alex screaming because I wanted him to be in the picture, Adeline looking at him like not again Alex I listened to you scream the entire way here and then Annie plugging her ears.
On Thursday we went to Paradise Cove in Malibu.
We were like 1 out of 10 people in the cove so it was great and Alex's toys distracted him for about 1 hour before he realized he wanted to go into the ocean.
Throwing sand his new favorite thing.  I'm not sure how kids learn to do annoying things like this.
Enjoying some apple juice
Trying to distract him from the water
I probably shouldn't be throwing him when I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant.
If you park in the cove it's $25 and if you eat at their restaurant and spend $25 then parking is only $3 so it's kind of a must to eat there.
On our way back we stopped to see the Bachelor mansion.  You can't really see until we found a construction zone and walked down it.  Their is a ton of lighting all around it which is most likely for all their night scenes.  Too bad they weren't filming
Al didn't take one picture for me while he was in Texas so I guess this is turning into the blog of Whitney and Alex.

Zuma

Friday we went to Zuma Beach. Laura made us fabulous salads for lunch, they were so good.
Charlie patting Alex's head.
I think this is the only time Alex sat in his chair.  The rest of the time he was climbing on me and trying to sit in my chair.

I always try to wait to take Alex into the ocean or he will want to do it all day long.  He's getting more adventurous and actually went into the water on his own, but he got taken down.  I went to grab him and he was so mad because he wanted to play in the water.   This is the picture Laura took of us.
I buried Charlie in the sand.  Good thing baby powder gets all the sand off.  It's seriously like magic.

Alex throwing a tantrum because he's mad at something I most likely did.

End of Summer

Last weekend we went on a hike in Malibu called Escondido falls. To get to the trail head you have to walk by the most amazing houses. This is one of my favorites with the tennis court, swimming pool, vineyard, batting cages. Pretty amazing.
The 2 cutest Albert's I know.
Lacie and I. Wooooh
The long awaited waterfall that was just a trickle. I'm guessing it's more of a waterfall in the spring??
We found a yummy new ice cream place in Montrose called Paradis.
and lastly we enjoyed another amazing day at the beach. Perfect temp, no people, and Alex was trapped in his Pac N Play.
Alex went from crawling to standing, but he prefers standing and pulling himself up onto anything and everything which means I'm constantly saying no no Alex....come play with your toys.
This kid is going to get rid of those cankles and have ripped calves from always standing on his tippy toes.
We found a bed of Oysters in the tide.
Al and Coby played catch for way longer than I ever would.
Family fun at Redondo Beach

Stuff

One of my new friends from Anthropologie is a photographer and by that I mean a real one. She is trying to build up her website so I got to have my VERY own photoshoot last week. I probably won't get a 5 page spread in Cosmo, but they turned out pretty good for a beginner. On our way to the beach we stopped for breakfast in Brentwood and sat next to Helen Hunt. I didn't ask her for a picture because A-it looked like she had just rolled out of bed and B- I felt like she needed some time to herself. I did however get one of her backside and side profile
and my breakfast which was amazing
Moving on to my photoshoot in Malibu

If anyone needs a photographer and not just in California, call her because she is THE BEST and will hook you up!! Her website is jobimanson.com
On Friday night we went on a double date with Kathryn and Jeff. Randomly I went to highschool with Jeff and he is in our ward....small world After a yummy Indian dinner we went to the Observatory which is this amazing planetarium that looks out over like 50 different cities.
Jeff and Kathryn
Overlook of Hollywood

L.A. and the smog

We also went to the L.A. zoo which was fabulous.
Apparently there is Malaria at the zoo.....makes you feel good right before you go in Random animals at the zoo

This zoo has the prettiest grounds. I felt like I was in the middle of the jungle in some parts
Al loves Lions
This guy has this ridiculously big lens and I thought it would be funny to take a picture Al wanted me to know what it's like to be a giraffe, so he put me on his shoulders.
I love giraffes

Al is almost as long as the California Condor
Here we all are at the Los Angeles Zoo......next zoo is Santa Barbara
