Annenberg Beach House

Last week we went to the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica.
The shallow end was a little crowded and thinking about all the germs floating around freaked me out a little bit, but Alex loved it.
Snack time
We ordered lunch and went to the beach after the pool
It was a great day at the beach.
Enjoying the sand between his toes.
All the kids.

Alex passed out after about 5 minutes in the car.
We stopped at Diddy Reise on the way home for ice cream sandwiches, sno cones, and cookies.
Fabulous Day!!

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend our good friend Ross got married in Santa Barbara.  We drove down a few hours early so we could have lunch and hang out before the wedding.

I curled my hair for the wedding, but you wouldn't be able to tell in the pictures since it was cold and windy, bummer.
Lacie and Ross were married in the Sunken Gardens at the Santa Barabara Courthouse, so pretty.
Alex showing off his tie and running around in the Gardens.
One of the prettiest Courthouses I've ever seen.
Afterwards they had a dinner at El Paseo Mexican Restaurant.  Al's parents also came to the wedding with us.
I got to see some old college friends.  Alex let Breck hold him, haha.
Ross and Lacie cutting the cake.
College friends.
The Cameron's, congrats Ross and Lacie.  We wish you the very best.
We got to spend the rest of the weekend with Al's parents.  Saturday morning Shelly and I walked around the Rose Bowl while the Al's ran.
We went to Santa Monica during Alex's nap time.
We walked around the Promenade and had lunch at an over priced restaurant called True Foods.  I got some new shoes that Alex was very excited about.
Sunday morning the Cameron's were on their way back to Utah.  Thanks for visiting and we hope you guys come back soon.

Ocean Park

On Friday we had a beach day with some friends.  May Gray seems like it came early this year because what was supposed to be a sunny and warm 75 degree beach day turned into a foggy 65 degree beach day.  We decided to go anyway and just dress warm.  3 toddler car seats crammed into a Honda Accord.
We stopped at Bay Cities Deli on the way and got Godmothers.  The best sandwich ever, seriously.
Cold and fog doesn't seem to bother kids.  Alex still had a blast and didn't lose sight of his snack bag.
He loved this chair so much he played in it for at least 30 minutes.

Boys club at the beach, so cute.
A fun day with great company.

OVO

Al and I went to see the Cirque Du Soleil show Ovo last weekend in Santa Monica.  Two weekend date nights in a row?  Best Ever.   We had some pizza at our favorite spot.

The show is right below the pier.  Al kept making jokes about how are the tents standing and this is the sort of thing you see on the news where the tent collapses while everyone watches the show.  He's so romantic these days.
The show was amazing like all the other Cirque shows we've seen.
My favorite part was the slinky man.  It's hard to explain why he's so cool, but once you see the show you will understand.
The only lame thing was they had a 30 minute intermission most likely for people to spend money on alcohol and food.  We took advantage of our time and tried on some Cirque apparel.
The grand finale.  So pretty and colorful which my iPhone didn't capture.

Sandy Day

Last week we went to the beach. I haven't ever taken Alex to the beach for more than an hour without the pack in play, so I wasn't really sure if he would like it.  Boy was I wrong.....First things first, snack time.
Luckily his hands only went in his mouth once and I think he had a flashback from Hawaii and remembered sand does not taste good.
He played with Ryker and Nicholas for 2 hours and they kept saying hey baby don't take my shovel....haha
He was fascinated by the birds who eventually found our snack bag and helped themselves.  That was our cue to leave.
He was loving the sand so much he kept laying down in it, too funny.
Laying down in the sand was a result of this.  There was sand in everywhere....ears, diaper, eyelashes, hair, toes, but that means it was a successful beach trip.
The weather was 75 and perfect and did I mention it's February.  I love California more and more the longer I live here.
Nicholas and Alex
Walking in the sand.
Telling me about how much he loves the beach.
It was a good day.

32 Weeks

After my Drs appt last week I decided I needed to go on a hike to help this excessive weight gain problem of mine. We went to Runyon Canyon where all the beautiful people from Hollywood. Probably not the best place to pick when you're pregnant, but the views and people watching are totally worth it. It was super smoggy that day as are most in LA, but you can always hope for those clear ones where you can see the ocean. This is the first look out point in Runyon looking at Century City.
The view of Los Angeles
Get ready for this one.....32 weeks and feeling huge.

The big bench that makes you feel like your 5 again because your feet don't touch the ground.
Back to color because I love palm trees
Al and I were laughing at these guys on the hike. This is a perfect example of good people watching. What 4 guys go hiking in matching outfits, perfectly tanned, and toned bodies? We think they are calendar models.
That night we went to Benihanas with Kris and Kristin in Santa Monica.
We decided to walk down to the Pier to see if the Ferris Wheel was going. Everytime I've ever wanted to ride it, it has been closed, but that was my lucky night. Yaaaaaaaaay we finally got to ride it!!
It may have only gone around 3 times once they got everyone loaded, but it was totally worth the $5 to see where Spencer proposed to Heidi.

and how romantic that we had a full moon. Look at all the people laying on the beach at 10:00 at night...lol
Afterwards Al couldn't resist playing one of the carnival games. He chose the impossible ladder and he was on it for such a short period of time it made it even more impossible to get a picture.
Kris and the infamous Forest Gump pic.
