Our Week

A couple weeks ago we met some friends at Huntington Gardens.  This could be an ad for Bob strollers.

The kids loved the Japanese garden area.

Alex was entertained watching the fish.

Alex started swim lessons a couple weeks ago.  The first time I went out there and tried to help her, but realized it was useless so I left and listened to him scream.  I'm hoping it gets better.

My friend Megan and her sister Shantel were in town for their new Cardio Barre studio that is opening in Utah.  We took a class in Eagle Rock., I wish they had daycare. Such a great workout.

Megan is one of those friends I don't get to see that often and the moment we do it's like we never skipped a beat and instantly act like we are 20 again.

Alex is getting better at shopping these days.  I trust him more to walk around in stores especially if there is free balloons and a .25 cent bouncy ball involved.

We had big plans to go bowling one night as a family and Alex had a 102 temperature that entire day.  He was on fire and I felt so bad.  He just laid there and we watched a lot of Disney.  Thank goodness the fever broke that night and didn't come back.  

and I'm so glad this kid didn't get it.  I feel like we've been sick way too much lately.

Debbs Park

As long as we live in Los Angeles I think I will always have something on my bucket list.  It amazes me at how much stuff there is to do and see here. Debbs park is only about 15 minutes from where we live and I've never been in 4 years.  When we got to the park there was a bunch of fire trucks that were practicing turns and driving.  They let get inside and look around.  

There are trails all over the park that would be fun to explore, but not with a stroller. The main thing everyone hikes to is this little lake.  

It was about a 10 minute walk straight up a hill and luckily Al was there to push the stroller for me.

Al and Alex threw rocks for awhile.  

I tried to get a picture of both of them looking at the camera.  At least Alex is smiling for once.

Cole is so happy and round.  I just want to give him a big squeeze and bottle up his sweetness.  If I could have more babies like him I might have 3 more.

Long Days

Al was out of town for 8 days.  I think it's always harder to be alone when you don't have family nearby.  Friends are great, but they are usually busy with their families on the weekends. Some of those days were long, especially for me.  

We met Henry and Amber at Kidspace one morning.  They had a blast and I got more bummed as I listened to Amber talk about how she was going to Maui for a month with her family :(

We went to Griffith Park one day to ride the ponies and the train.  Alex was a little worried at first, but then he loved it.  

Last time I took him he was still pretty little and ended up going on the ones that walk in a circle. 

The 3 best friends

When Cole gets too big for the Bjorn I could be in trouble.  That thing saves my life everyday.

One or maybe 2 of those days included Target.  Love those $1 bins.

Cole has recently learned how to roll to wherever he wants to go which is usually Alex's toys.  We are working on sharing.

Saturday morning we hung out at the mall.  We found Al a Fathers Day present and did our usual rounds.  The playground, merry go round, See Chocolates, and free Old Navy balloon.

We built lots of Lego towers.

Cole working on baby food.  He isn't thrilled about fruits which I'm ok with.  

My proud moment of the week was I got all of us ready and to church on time.  That never happens when Al is home so I guess he's the reason we are always late :)

Cole found the best purse in Relief Society to chew on.  I'm sure the leather tastes better on a Chanel bag.  We survived our week alone and I hope there aren't too many more in the future.  

7 Months

7 Month Stats

Weight 18 lbs 5 oz 50th percentile

Height 27 1/2 inches long 75th percentile

Sleeps from 6:30PM-7:30AM

Sleeps on his left side and nestles his face into his bumper

Started sleeping on his tummy on around 6.5 months

Hangs out in his crib in the morning smiling and kicking

Has tried green beans, carrots, sweet peas, squash, pears, loves oatmeal and rice cereal.  He seems to like the veggies over fruits which is awesome.

Nurse every 3 hours.  Have given up on bottles and only plan on nursing 5-6 more months.

Loves to be thrown up in the air 

Loves the water, swimming and bath time.

Pushes up on his arms when he lays on his tummy

pivots around and doesn't stay in one place anymore.

His first bottom tooth came thru around 5-28

Won't fall asleep on your chest

Loves to watch everything Alex does.  When we are in the car his eyes are fixed on Alex.

Grandma Fun

On Friday we went to the sample sale. I hadn't been since Cole was 2 or 3 weeks old so it worked out perfect. Alex found a new spot he likes to sit in the stroller.  Why would he want to sit in his seat?

After the sample sale we walked around Santee Alley and got some of the best hot dogs for lunch.  You will never see my mom eat a hot dog unless it's one of these:)

Not really sure about the butterfly stickers on the nipples?  Yikes.

That afternoon we let Alex and Cole nap, made some juice, went for a walk, and watched Lifetime movies.  Every time I look over at Cole he is doing this.  I should be down there with him working on my abs instead of taking pictures.

Alex driving around his jeep.  We are working on teaching him how to steer.  Right now he just pushes the gas down and goes wherever so you have to follow him or use the remote.

Al got home from San Diego that afternoon and we headed to the beach. I watched the weather all week and this was supposed to be the warmest day.

We stopped on our way and got Cafe Rio to eat at the beach.

It was supposedly 70 or 75 degrees but it was so windy and cold.  None of us brought jackets so we huddled under the umbrella and laid on the warm sand.

It was a short beach trip and I should know better by now to always bring jackets!!

We stopped at Forest Lawn on our way back to show my mom where Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson are buried.  It sound like we are creepy people that hang out at cemeteries all the time, but Forest Lawn is so amazing that everyone has to see it once.  When we stopped at Michael Jackson's Mausoleum there were some more die hard fans.  I started talking to the lady that looked like she had been camped out there for days.  I got invited to his Memorial and she had me sign a heart that they will be releasing with balloons in the air.  

When we pulled in to Forest Lawn we saw a huge sign for a Lego exhibit in the museum.  Alex is obsessed with Lego's right now so we stopped.  Totally random, but cool to see.

Since we were still cold from the beach we went out to our pool to warm up.

That night my mom watched the boys so we could go on a date.  Free babysitters are the best especially when it's your mom.  Al and I are so lame that at 9:00pm we were trying to think of things to do.

Sunday was great too.  My mom held Cole while he gummed her necklace and Al held Alex.  I almost got to listen the entire meeting.  

Before my mom's flight we met my Uncle David for brunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  It's been on my bucket list for awhile so it was fun to finally try it.

The closest I will ever get to a red carpet event with 2 kids :)

We ate in the Polo lounge.  I had an amazing lobster salad and Al's mini waffles were to die for.  Everyone needs to go once.  

Alex figured out to use his headphones on the way to the airport.  It distracted him so he didn't get too sad when Grandma gave him a hug goodbye.  We hope she comes back soon.
