Al's class was having a spouse weekend where we got to attend class for a few hours with one of his professors and have a BBQ after or should I say grill out (everyone in Texas says that...lol). We left Thursday around lunch and it took way too long to get there. We went to dinner with Brian and Rylan and then settled into our hotel. Al gave the boys a tour of his class while I tried to put Brady to sleep.
One of Al's classmates works for Mars in Waco and hooked us up with all this candy. The boys kept calling him Willy Wonka, haha.
Friday morning I had plans to meet up with Helen so we hit Voodoo before we left to eat some overpriced donuts they didn't really like. We'll stick to our cheap Asian donut places for the basics.
We finally made it to Hamilton Pools thanks to my reservation but the crappy part was it was closed for swimming, boo!! It was a very short walk, but so beautiful and fun to see, we walked around it to make sure we enjoyed every last second.
So glad Helen was with me to help with Cole and Alex. Some girls were snapping our pics and I'm like OMG do they think we are a couple, hahaha. We totally look like it in this picture.
Real life right here!!
Afterwards we had the most amazing lunch at Clarks Oyster Bar.....Helen might have overestimated how nice it was and that we were in workout clothes and had 3 little kids, but we survived and it was seriously so good. We had Oysters, amazing bread and butter with radishes, this Lobster roll, and some insane Hamburger, yum. I love Austin
So so hot, but we walked around, went to Anthro, and Lulu
We went to dinner and the Co Op when Al got out of class.
I could tell he was super stressed about homework, but I talked him into going miniature golfing at Peter Pan in Austin. I wish I could tell you how hot it was in this picture, but we were all dripping in sweat, so gross and humid.
I feel like Cole and Alex are finally at a good stage in hotel rooms, but Brady put a wrench in that one, haha. Seriously though the worst but thankfully I had iPads and headphone for them to use while he napped.
The class for the wives was fun and they had free childcare in the room next to us which was even more fun, haha. It was great to meet more people that Al spends a lot of time with. It was also great to see where he gets to stay and go to school. The BBQ was fun and the kids got to swim, I guess it's the pool all the students can use and it was so amazing with lounge chairs and palm trees. I don't remember having something like that at the U. UT is kind of a big deal!!
