Thirty Eight

I looked so puffy in this picture I cropped it....all that really matters is my stomach anyway, so here it is at 38 weeks. My weekly Dr's appts are now in full swing. As of March 4th I'm dilated to a 1....woo hoo, she thinks I will have him a few days after my due date which is March 18th, and she thinks he weighs in the mid 6's right now. We have an ultra sound this Friday to confirm exactly how big he is. Thankfully she doesn't want me to have too big of a baby and she wants me to be "open" to an epidural. A few months ago I signed us up for a Labor and Delivery class and a Breastfeeding Class. The Labor and Delivery Class was awful to say the least. It was 2 different Tuesday night 3 hour classes. In our first class the teacher walked in and we knew it was going to be a long 3 hours. When she pulled up the first slide that said "Birth Is Natural" I knew Al was going to kill me....lol Needless to say we only made it through the first class for an hour. We tried again the following week and watched a movie on labor that was probably made in 1980. It was stressing me out watching it....I would rather just go with it than think about all the awful things that could happen. After the movie we left, but we did make it 1.5 hours that night!! I knew it wasn't going to be easy to convince Al to go to the breast feeding class, but since he is such a great husband he came anyway. Thankfully we had a different teacher and the 3 hours flew by. Everything was super interesting and worth learning about. It was a little awkward holding the dolls up to your shirt, but hopefully I will remember the proper holding positions from it.

Al even got to have a healthy chocolate donut and chocolate milk for breakfast. The class was a success!!

Just Go With It

Since our days our numbered to see movies in the theater I talked Al into seeing Just Go With It. I wasn't expecting much with this movie, but it was so funny. Definitely don't expect a big plot, but do be prepared to laugh. One good thing about LA on a Friday night is you can go to any theater and buy a ticket at the last minute, sit wherever you want, and not have to listen to people crunch popcorn in your ear.
After the movie we lucked out and got a sweet deal on Laker's tickets. They were even lower bowl!!

I was more into looking for stars than watching the game and I totally wish I would've brought my binoculars.

Al bought me some cotton candy to keep me entertained. Don't mind my double chin or fake wedding ring on my fat fingers.
Are you surprised the Lakers won? Free Jack in the Box tacos for everyone!!

Yay for finally going to a Lakers game. So much fun!!

The Nursery

I finally found a place to put everything in the nursery!! Working with limited space and not being able to paint the walls was hard, but I love how it turned out. Hours were spent picking out the crib and dresser. Deciding on a color was another issue which I know Al loooved being a part of. Just to be clear that's not black, but espresso and that wood won't scratch for the life of it. Young America cribs are the best!! A huge thanks to my creative friends Megan (sorry all I could find was your wedding pic...lol)
and Stacy. They both helped me pick out all the fabric at Christmas time. Megan made the quilt and skirt and Stacy made the bumper. These ladies are amazing....I'm thankful to have both of them in my life and not just because the bedding turned out super cute:)

The most comfortable glider in the world which I'm sure I will spend countless hours in and Al was kind enough to buy me the ottoman to match!

Megan also helped me make those cute picture frames on the wall. I will most likely put some newborn pictures in them.

So now our guest bedroom/office turned into a nursery, but don't worry you can still come visit us.

34,35,36,37

I'm a little behind on my picture updates but here I am at 34 weeksI thought I had one at 35 which is when I took my maternity pics, but I don't have those yet, so here is 36.

and 37. It's hard to believe I have 3 more weeks left and even harder to believe how my stomach could stretch out anymore!!

My fun weekly appointments started on Friday and so far it looks like I'm going to go over my due date, but please pray that my labor starts naturally and they don't have to induce me. I'm going to have a talk with Baby Alex and let him know his time is up and he needs to come sooner than later. I don't want to gain anymore weight and I don't want him to either. If you're thinking I look good you are so wrong....I'm almost up to 40lbs, but than again as long as he's healthy that's all that matters.

Private Practice

Just when Al thought his acting career was over he got an offer to make an appearance on Private Practice. He didn't get the main part for this scene, but he is standing in the background during a brain surgery on a teenager. I didn't get to go this time which explains why I don't have any pictures to post. He might consider retirement at this stage because he was there from 2pm-10:30pm for one scene, so glad I wasn't there. He is supposed to be on episode 18 which will be March 31st, so look for him!! He did get one picture with the actress (no idea who she is because I don't watch the show) and the cusa machine which he sells for work.

This Is The Story

Last week was my first week on maternity leave so I had a little more spare time than usual. Kristin and I decided to go on a little day trip to Malibu. On our way we stopped at the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air House. There was a brand new house being built across the street and we just happened to get there when all the construction workers were on their lunch. The best part was a food truck pulled up right in front of the Fresh Prince house so there was no hiding the stares, but luckily no one wants to stare at a 8 1/2 month old pregnant woman, so Kristin got all those:) We decided to use our resources while they were having lunch and had them take a picture of us.

When we got to Malibu we had lunch at a random little shack on PCH called Cholada Thai Beach Cuisine. Their Thai food was soooo good and the brown rice was even better. I'm not usually a rice lover because I feel like it's just a filler, but this rice was delicous. I had the Mixed Vegetables with Chicken, yummy!! Lunch was interesting.....we made friends with some rich kids from Pacific Pallisades that told us it was cool to get high while hanging upside down on an inversion chair. They also offered us some of their food, but that could have been from all the sake they were drinking at 1 in the afternoon.

After lunch we went to the Getty Villa. It's very different from the Getty in L.A. because there isn't really that much art. It's mostly Greek and Roman Antiquities....no paitings which are my favorite to look at.

I personally enjoyed the architecture and gardens at the museum more than the art.

Random weird statues they had around one of the main gardens.

How relaxing does this look? I totally wanted to be that statue on the rock.

I lied....I did love this statue and I learned from a tour group in this room that the David statue was built after this one.

There was a video on how mummies were made which was so interesting to watch. Years ago UCLA took an x-ray of this mummy and they had that on display which was also really cool to see.

To end our fun day in Malibu we stopped at Diddy Riese on the way home and good news there is no line during the day!!

Babies

Last weekend some girls in my ward threw me a baby shower. We played fun games and had yummy food.

Al and Kris were able to come clean up what we didn't eat.

Al got his favorite bibs that he registered for.

and I got the Baby Einstein play mat that I wish came in an adult size.
