Ice House Again

Last week my friend Laura told me she was selling her Buzz, Woody, Bulls Eye, and a car racing track.  Alex is really into Toy Story right now so it was perfect.  He loves Woody and slept with him the first few nights, but now he's laying on the living room floor.

I didn't pay for school pictures so I took a picture of a picture :)   How cute is Alex's little preschool class.

We went to Target the other day (surprise) and the one in Eagle Rock is connected to a mall (actually it's an Asian mall with really weird stores), but they have all these rides and Alex spotted them.  It's so fun to see these two interact and be able to do things together.  Can't wait for all the fun to come in the years ahead :)

Cole is officially weaned.  When I got the flu I was so sick I couldn't nurse him and since I was only doing it once a day I figured it was the perfect time to stop.    Here he is with his big boy milk cup.

He is so yummy and loveable, the sweetest age.

The other day we were at Costco.  While I was looking at something I heard two ladies say aw.  I looked over and Alex was holding Cole's hands and kissing his head.  It's moments like that where I' am so thankful I get to stay at home with these two boys.  Of course there are times where I feel like I'm going insane, but it's all worth it.

When we saw Ian Baag perform the week before we saw that David Spade was going to be there the following week.  We decided to go again, but realized it wasn't as funny when the opening guy was telling the exact same jokes as the week before...lol   Chris Farley's brother was also an opener and was pretty funny.  He looked and acted just like Chris.  It will probably be awhile until we go to another comedy show :)

The Flu

I've always wanted a garden and my first one didn't really count since it was a tiny plot of land between some bushes at the house I lived at before we got married. We have the perfect space for a garden in our yard so I decided to take advantage of California's weather and plant a winter garden.  We planted broccoli, cauliflower, beans, carrots, kale, spinach, and chard.  The beans and carrots were seeds, but everything else were starter plants.  I'm so excited to see what happens :)

Cole got some cute new toys for his birthday and these letters for the bath were one of them. 

Alex got his first ouch report at school.  We put some neosporin on it a few times, it's been about 2 weeks and he is still asking for medicine and it is 100% healed.

Alex and Cole playing in their house.  Cole loves to ring the doorbell and Alex loves to shut the door on him.  You can't beat a California winter.  I don't know what I would do with these two all day if we had cold snowy winters.

We went to a comedy show at Ice House Comedy in Pasadena and saw Ian Baag perform.  We had no idea who he was and he turned out to be hilarious.  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time and it felt great, so fun.

On Sunday our home teacher was over and in the middle of his lesson when bam Alex threw up all over our couch.  Poor Jordan saw Cole throw up at his Birthday party so he laughed and said something like I better not come over to your house anymore.  It had been over a week since Cole and I had it, so I thought we were in the clear.  Luckily it only lasted that day and night and he was pretty much back to his normal self the next day.  The best part was is Al told him how to throw up in the bowl.  He threw up in the bowl perfectly every time and after he was done he would say I DID IT MAMA!!  I was expecting him to say I want a treat like he does when he goes poop so we made a joke about it, if we could get him to poop in the potty like he throws up in bowls.  

The next day we watched way too much tv, drank tons of Gatorade, and he loved every minute of it.  

Cole's Mustache Bash

Originally I just wanted to throw a dessert party with some close friends, but the more I thought about it the guiltier I felt. I threw Alex a huge 1st Birthday so it was only fair that I had one for Cole too even though he won't remember it :)   It was about 2 weeks away I didn't have a theme.  I knew I wanted to use the colors orange and blue so I searched and searched on Pinterest and came up with a mustache theme.  It was perfect since this new thing with no shave Movember is popular.   I did lots of planning, trips to Joanns, and shopping online.  I sent out a text invite and got this invite from Redstamp which is the best website ever.

I basically spent every night for 2 weeks crafting and preparing things.  My friend Daisy made me a bunch of cute signs including the one of this drink dispenser which I added a mustache too.

I made 20 gift bags with a Wooly Willy, applesauce (Cole's favorite), some glasses, and candy.

I made mustache cookies the day before and mustache suckers the entire week.

Cole got sick Friday afternoon which was the day before his party.  He was throwing up everywhere which he has never done.  I wasn't sure if it was the flu or if it was something he ate, so sad.   He just wanted to be held and loved which was the best, but hard since I had a ton of stuff to do for his party.

On Saturday morning he seemed like he felt a lot better so we just gave him some bread and gatorade.  I ordered some 36inch balloons off Amazon so that morning Al and Alex got those inflated and picked up the cakes and cupcakes.

When you walked in the party I had a photobooth with these props and don't forget the hash tag #colesmustachebash

You were supposed to grab a mustache and put it on unless you had a real one.

I wanted all the kids to have fun so I rented a bounce house.  The weather couldn't have been better and  everything came together.  I love how it turned out.

Here is the dessert bar.  Chocolate mustache suckers, chocolate cake, cupcakes, candy, mustache cookies, and coles cute mini smash cake.

We had sandwiches, salad, chips, golfish for the kids, orange crush, orange water, and coconut syrup to make dirty diet cokes.

If you mustache I'm one.  I felt like he was feeling better so I gave him some crackers, cheese, and juice.  I was in the kitchen when one of our friends said uh Whitney I don't think Cole feels that good, he just threw up everywhere.

It's a good thing Shelly made two onesies :)   I cleaned him up and then we sang Happy Birthday.

He wasn't really into smashing or eating his cake since he didn't feel good.  I told Al he needs a redo when he feels better.

I tried to give him a frosting mustache.  Alex couldn't look at the camera because he was on a birthday party high.  It's been almost two weeks since the party and he's still talking about Cole's Birthday.

Cole got icing in my hair and shirt.  Don't you love how Al is laughing.

My photobooth.  I was so excited I found mustache wallpaper for the background and I made those mustache props.  Alex, Kingston and Saige, these 3 love each other so much.

The party was a lot of work and a ton of fun.  It was so much work that you would have thought Al was the one that did it all.  While I was mopping the floors this is what I looked up and saw.  These are the things that need to be documented in our life:)

After naptime we had the bounce house for a couple more hours so we blew it back up and partied some more.  Best Birthday party ever and so nice to finally have a yard and house to throw it at.

Cole is One

I honestly can't believe Cole is already one.  This little boys is so sweet and full of love.  I saw a similar picture on Pinterest and wanted to take one of Cole.

They thought it was pretty cool to eat cereal out of that big bowl.

So happy and full of life, love those boys.

Al had to fly to Dallas on Cole's birthday so Alex and I did lots of celebrating for him.  We filled up his crib with balloons and sang him Happy Birthday.

We gave him his present which was this truck.

and we switched him to his big boy forward facing car seat which he loves and is so happy about.

 We left for Disneyland around 11 with Ashlee and Saige and spent the entire day there, so perfect.  There was barely anyone there and the weather was perfect.

Alex loves Minnie and the line wasn't that long to see her and her house so we waited.  I should have taken a video instead of a picture.  Hiiiiiii Minnie and then Alex gave her a big hug and she kissed his cheek, soooo cute.  Byyyyye Minnie, see you later.

The best part of the day was by far this picture.  I took about 6 and this was the only one he was smiling in and that no one was walking in, perfect!!

 We had dinner in California Adventure and had yummy lobster nachos and pizza for the kids.  It was another perfect day at Disneyland.  Happy Birthday Cole, we love you!!
