Grandma Love

What happens when you don't sleep at night?  Naturally you sleep in the car at 10am on the way to the airport.
The Jacaranda trees are in full bloom all over LA and they are so beautiful.  I snapped this picture at the Long Beach Airport right before we picked up my mom.
It's always a treat when Grandma comes to town and what perfect timing to have your flight land at 11:30AM.  That means you have to stop at Cafe Rio on the way home and have a yummy lunch.
That afternoon we went and walked around Old Town, ate some french macaroons, and had a yummy Thai dinner.  Alex was so happy to have his Grandma back.
My mom slept in Alex's room and it was so nice to get a full night rest for 4 nights.
On Thursday we went to Disneyland.  We hit all the rides in Fantasyland with short lines. Coles first time on Dumbo, way exciting!!
You can't forget the teacups.
Toon Town.
We met Mickey at his house!!
Cole did so good the entire day.  Every time he got fussy I put him in his car seat, he would cry for a few minutes and then just go to sleep.  Love that baby and his chubby thighs.
Have you ever seen someone at Disneyland eating with their shirt off?  Alex won't wear a bib or put a napkin on his lap so I take his shirt off so there wasn't mac and cheese dripped down the front of it.  I've never seen him eat so much and it was healthy if you subtract the mac and cheese :)
We went on a few more rides after lunch until they both passed out and then we headed over to California Adventure.  We hit all the little rides in A Bug's Land.
We watched the Pixar parade which Alex loved.  When he saw all the Toy Story characters he kept saying Toy Story.  I was worried it was going to be too hot, but there was a nice breeze all day and it turned out to be great.
Before we left I was nursing Cole on a bench and Micky Mouse walked by. Why not get another picture!! I love Cole and Alex in this picture, I wish I knew what they were thinking.
Al was in San Diego for work and his dad happened to be too.  They went to dinner and had their favorites at Ghiradelli, yum.

Al Turns 30

Al went all out for my 30th so I wanted to do something special for him.  I ended up buying him 30 different kinds of Root Beer from an amazing soda pop shop not too far from where we live.  I wrote down 30 different memories or things I love about him and tied them to the bottles.  I saw this idea on Pinterest but with Beer and spruced it up a bit.  When he walked down stairs he saw a big 30
Alex loved it and wanted to run around in circles around the Root Beer.
Al's birthday fell on Memorial Day this year and he ended up working.  We did the things we normally do which is watch Alex play and Cole get closer and closer to crawling and messing up what Alex is doing.
Later that day we took Al to hit a bucket of golf balls.  We brought Alex's plastic clubs too:)
How cute is this picture.  Al will love it when he has 2 little friends to play golf with.  This is why I need to have a girl someday.

We went swimming and had a BBQ at our friends.  Cole loooooves the water even if it's not warm.  He is seriously the best baby EVER!!  I would have 4 more if they were like him.
Al pushing Alex and Hazel on the Alligator.  Pure joy going on in this picture
Alex, Hazel, and Sienna chowing down.
and that night we met a big group of friends at the Dodgers game.
Right after this picture Al stood up to go get food and all 40 of us sang Happy Birthday to him.
Alex and Sienna.  Sienna thinks she is Alex's mom and Alex listens to everything she says :)
An amazing birthday sunset.
Cole in his jacket I scored at the Splendid sample sale.  I've been waiting for him to be big enough to wear it, so cute!!
I'm not sure how we did it, but we made it to the end which was about 9:30PM.  Alex and Cole must have known it was their Dad's birthday or they share the same love for baseball that he does.  Either way it was a great day. Happy Birthday Al, we love you!!

Al's Birthday Weekend

I wanted to take Al to Vegas for his 30th Birthday. What's more perfect than sunshine, fancy hotels, gambling, and good food? Plus we have fun memories of Vegas since we lived there for a year when we first got married.  Cole is too good at nursing to take a bottle so our trip is postponed to next year :)  I planned lots of other fun things to make up for it.  One night we went out with our friends Ashlee and Ryan to see Hangover III and had a yummy dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse, Al's favorite.
On Saturday night Al wanted to watch a game and chose Yardhouse.  We had this yummy Ahi Tuna appetizer.
Somehow I always end up next to Alex :)
Nursing Cole.  Thanks for the aerial shot Al :)
The kids meal was huge and it came with a dessert!!
Best seat in the restaurant.  Alex loved watching all the cars go by.
Alex loves his Dad or dada as he would say.
We've been having a difficult time with bedtime at our house and one night when I was closing Alex's door he was running to try and escape and ran right into the side of the door.  Biggest goose egg ever.
Bubbles with Dad.
Cole is getting close to crawling and Alex has no idea that his stuff is going to get drooled on and played with by Cole.  We will see how that goes :)
I made Al a cake for Sunday night since we were going to the Dodgers game on his actual Birthday.  Al's favorite candy bar is Snickers so I found a recipe on Pinterest that turned out to be delicious.

Random

Our good friend Wyatt graduated Dental school a few weeks ago.  If you want to read an inspiring story go to their blog.  You are amazing Wyatt, Congrats!!
My friend Laura also had her baby the same day so I went to visit her.  We switched places because 6 short months ago she was visiting me.
Cole is grabbing anything and everything he can get his hands on.  Right here he is chewing on his belt.  I wish I was that flexible.
It's been really hot in Pasadena the last couple of weeks so we've been having lots of pool days.   Cole loves the water.
He is the happiest baby, love this boy.
This float is still a little big for him, but he loves it!!  It's a little challenging taking two kids that don't know how to swim to the pool, but  I'm hoping we can get Alex swimming by the end of this summer.
Jenny's Birthday dinner at Houstons.  Afterwards we went to Cheesecake Factory for dessert and some random guy none of us noticed paid for our bill, so awesome.  Pay It Forward!!
Lots of kisses for sweet Cole.

Book Worm

Alex is really into reading books lately. I'm not sure how many he would let us read at night, but usually it's 3 or 4.  His favorite is the Cat In The Hat
Alex likes to climb into Cole's crib.  I'm not sure if he likes to relive his baby days or if he's just being silly.
I seriously love the age Cole is at.  So happy, immobile, and the chubbiness just makes you want to squeeze him.
He loves to nestle himself in the corner of his crib and have something against his face.
I went to Super King and loaded up on fruits and veggies to juice.  I need some good recipes for veggie ones, I don't quite have those ones tasting good yet.
Cole gets really splotchy when he cries, mostly his forehead.  It's a good thing he isn't a girl.
Playing in the water at Kidspace with Kingston.
Girls night at Master Wongs before Laura had her baby.  I leave with mixed emotions every time and usually more sore.  I'm guessing they aren't licensed masseuses.
It doesn't get much better than this.  Some of the yummiest thighs around.
Terrible 2 moment.
Al's cute Grandparents that are on a mission at Cove Fort.  If you're driving to Utah or California don't forget to stop and take their tour!!
