Our New Pool

I can't even explain how hot it felt in Texas after our month in Utah.  We were so excited to take advantage of our new pool and take some fun pictures with the GoPro.
Alex became such a good swimmer this summer and learned how to dive for diving sticks with Grandma Ranes.  I remember diving for diving sticks for hours when I was younger, so fun.

Alex and Cole came to a lot of my Doctors appointments until they started school and they were always so well behaved and sweet.
We celebrated Kristin's Birthday one night in Dallas at a BBQ restaurant, so glad we've remained friends all these years.
One of them almost always ends up sleeping in our bed and it's right next to you even though it's a huge bed.
It's been almost 3 months and I feel like we are finally getting settled in our house even though we still need so much furniture and decorating help.
Brian drove up from Austin to help Al install some speakers in our living room and outside by our pool.  We let the boys stay up late and go night swimming!!
Brian is training for the Ironman Al had to drop out of since I'm due the same week the race is, but Brian somehow talked Al into going on a long bike ride.  Al must have forgot he hasn't worked out in months, but still went and called me to pick them both up.
We seriously go to Home Depot almost every weekend now, but at least they have those cool carts with 2 spots for Alex and Cole to drive and popcorn!!  Yay

Home Bound

Jess and I finally had a Utah trip that overlapped, yay.  We spent the 24th at a carnival and watched the most amazing fireworks by Brighton Highschool.  Who doesn't love a good 24th celebration, it should be holiday for the U.S.
One morning we took some bread to Sugarhouse Park and watched the ducks/geese go crazy.
It lasted about 5 minutes but it was fun.
We stopped by Trolley Square for some Lulu exchanges and wandered through Alice Lane and drooled at all the beautiful furniture including this amazing chair that Alex and Cole wanted, ha.
That afternoon we had a BBQ at Mary and Rolfs.  Alex and Cole were in heaven playing with all the animals, running on the slip n slide and then playing with this tub and dumping all the bubbles they were blowing in it.
We celebrated Blake, Rolf, and Grandmas Birthdays and even made smores after that.  It was a really fun night, sad to say goodbye to everyone after our 3.5 week stay.
On our last day there we went and spent the morning with Grandma, walked her over to 7-11 for Slurpees, and then took her to lunch at Shanghai Cafe.  We also got to pick up Al at the airport on the way to lunch and we so excited after a week without him!!

Sadly our trip came to an end, but it was time to get back to Texas and unpack our stuff and finally get settled in our new house.   We drove 22 hours straight with a few gas/potty breaks in between, brutal, but Al refuses to stop and stay somewhere.
It was a little overwhelming to get home to a house full of boxes and to make it even more sad Al left that night to go out of town for work.  3 months later I'm starting to get used to being alone in this big house, but I still don't like it...lol   Maybe I'll move my kids into our room when he's gone.   Alex has been asking for months for us to build him a box house like we did in California, so here it is!!
Unpacking break with my sweet cuddly Cole.
We got a few more days of Sodapalooza before it ended, love this picture, so funny.

Oh Utah

We celebrated my Grandmas 84th Birthday at Sizzler.  Alex and Cole smothering Grandma.
We ordered her a Root Beer float that she loved and Cole kept eyeballing it.  It was so fun to see her happy and spend some time with her.
Group picture with the worst lighting ever!!
Teaching everyone about selfie sticks.
After dinner I made my mom and Elisha try the Waffle Love truck with me.
I need to bring one to Frisco, people would love it.
One morning we met Lexi and Grandma Cameron at Tui's grave and left him some flowers.
We spent the day at Cowabunga Bay and hid some Tui treasures.
You wouldn't know by the looks of this picture but we must have picked one of the busiest days.  I talked Lexi into going on that green slide with the boys.  The water was freezing and it was kind of windy, brrrr.  How cute are these brothers, we had so much fun, a day to remember.
Grandma Cameron took us for sno cones afterwards, the perfect end to a fun day at Cowabunga Bay.

Up House

Thanks to social media I found out that Christy and Jace were also in Utah so we met for lunch at Hires and caught up.  I realized I see Christy every time I'm pregnant.....NYC marathon 2010 pregnant with Alex, 2012 NYC Ironman pregnant with Cole, and 2015 Utah pregnant with this one.
A yummy thai dinner with my mom by Sugarhouse park before Al left for Texas.
A fun playdate with the Phillips boys at this awesome splash pad in Sandy with of course a gorgeous view of the mountains!!
We spent that afternoon at This is the place which wow also was so awesome and had so many fun kid activities to do.

Our favorite half price sushi restaurant with Ryan and his girlfriend Katy.  I told them it was his birthday because they lower this awesome disco ball and play a techno happy birthday remix.
We found the Up House in Herriman!!
and spent the a couple hours at the Daybreak lake with Kylee and her cute kids.

Sunday Fun

I really wanted us to all go on a hike while we were in Utah and I heard that Twin Lakes above Silver Lake was pretty easy.  Thanks to my amazing map reading we walked almost all the way around Silver Lake before we realized we walked by the trail head.  Alex was already complaining about being tired and Cole wanted to be held.  That was the start of Al being annoyed and not wanting to hike, haha.
The hike was a little harder than I was told, but we did it and it was so beautiful!!
Cole was a mess and wanted to be held most of the time, but Alex did great and hiked the entire time.
Al was annoyed so that made for a really fun family hike, but seriously just look how beautiful those mountains are, I miss it so much.
To make it even better Cole fell asleep on the way down and then Al got major road rage driving down the canyon because there was some RV going really slow, haha.  The takeout garlic burgers from Cotton Bottom made up for it :)
That afternoon we went to Liz's for a yummy dinner and some family time.
I picked some massive zucchini's at Sarah and Lindas house.
and that night we had dessert with the Odion family that we lived by in Glendale.  It sure is amazing how fast time goes by.
