Aquarium Of The Pacific

I don't think I've blogged about something I did the same day for a long time, so as of right now I'm officially caught up.  Today we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
Alex loved running around the aquarium.  I wish we lived closer because I would buy a membership.

I let him feel an eel and he wasn't so sure.
Penguin Love.
My favorite fish exhibit.

It was a good day at the aquarium followed by $1.50 Tuesday Tacos at Cafe Rio and a little shopping at World Market afterwards.
Alex's new thing is the dishwasher.  I have to make sure it's closed or this happens.  He kept pushing the start button over and over again until Al out smarted him and figured out it had a lock button.  Maybe in a few more months he can empty it for me :)

Wedding Bells

Our friends Victoria and Adam were married last weekend.  Their wedding was at the Marina Del Ray Yacht Club, so pretty

Every wedding I go to, I think of something I would like to change about mine...lol  For instance I hated my flower bouquet.  Look how beautiful and big Victoria's was?  Mine was so small, it could have been one of my bridesmaids.

It was a perfect evening for a wedding.  Our friends were watching Alex which made it relaxing, but I always worry about him when I'm not with him.
Our name tags.  They even remembered the V.
Victoria and Adam making their entrance for dinner.  It was a beautiful wedding, so happy for them.
Less than 15 weeks to go, yikes.  I'm don't know if I'm more excited or nervous.
We've been taking Alex to Nursery.  This was his second Sunday.  We can't officially leave him until he turns 18 months, so Al and I take turns to hopefully get him used to it.  He loves the first hour which is play time, but he struggles with the second half which is the snack and lesson.
Alex and Hazel are 2 months apart.  I was laughing watching them drink their water.  Both of them poured it down the front of them.  Hazel proceeded to wipe it off her dress and Alex was trying to figure out where it went.
I started combing over Alex's hair, I think it's a good look for him.

Last Week

Last weeks shenanigans consisted of a Birthday Party for Lucas.  We had lunch in the park while the kids ran wild.  The little girl Mia in this picture loves Alex and he loves her, so cute.
Alex got to hit his first Pinata.

Where is Alex?  Oh he is laying down throwing a tantrum which seems to be his new thing.  Here we go.
I put this party hat on to take his picture and he was not happy about it.
He had been grabbing his ear for a couple days so I took him to the Dr that afternoon and turns out he had an ear infection :(.  We made it 16 months before he got one although I think he got it from swimming, but I'm glad he's feeling better.  He loves his antibiotic medicine which makes it easy when I give it to him.
I've committed to walking 3 times a week around the Rose Bowl even though my Dr said 20% of weight gain is associated with exercise and the other 80% is diet.  I still need to slow it down.
My feet are slowly starting to disappear.
Al was in Florida last week for work so Alex got to hang out with me at my Drs appointment.  Luckily he just ate his snacks and was calm for the most part.
I had an extreme case of nesting.  I've been wanting to organize the bins in our garage forever, but needed to wait until Al's car was gone, so this was my chance.
The finished product with everything labeled.
I don't think Al was as excited as me, but I'm like see now when you need any of our old letters or pictures from your mission just come to this bin.
We went to a Birthday Breakfast at Heirloom Cafe.  Alex looks so big to me in this picture.  I can't believe how blond his hair is.  Everyone comments on it, but I think it's because we live in LA and blond babies aren't common like they are in Utah...lol
After breakfast we took the kids to Kidspace.
Alex climbed up the tower with Crew and Hudson.
He went to the very top.  I was a little worried so I went up there to get him and he was doing his whining noise when he wants down or help.
Driving the jeep with his crazy hair.

Zuma

Friday we went to Zuma Beach. Laura made us fabulous salads for lunch, they were so good.
Charlie patting Alex's head.
I think this is the only time Alex sat in his chair.  The rest of the time he was climbing on me and trying to sit in my chair.

I always try to wait to take Alex into the ocean or he will want to do it all day long.  He's getting more adventurous and actually went into the water on his own, but he got taken down.  I went to grab him and he was so mad because he wanted to play in the water.   This is the picture Laura took of us.
I buried Charlie in the sand.  Good thing baby powder gets all the sand off.  It's seriously like magic.

Alex throwing a tantrum because he's mad at something I most likely did.
A boy and the beach.

Din Tai

Last week we celebrated Rebecca's Birthday at Din Tai Fung.  They have the best dumplings ever and you can watch the workers making them when you walk in.  So much delicous food and great company.
A couple days later Al and I went to the Vietnam House and cooked our own dinner.  We used to do this all the time when we lived in Vegas at a restaurant called Pho So and I haven't found a better one since.
I was dying to see Kaskade last Saturday in LA, but let's be honest a pregnant woman doesn't belong there.  What's better than watching him in person? Streaming him live from the comfort of my own bed. Best Ever.
Al's favorite place,  Ikea.  He only agreed to go if he could eat hot dogs and cinnamon rolls at the end.  Alex thought it was pretty cool to walk around and touch everything.  We even let him try out some bunk beds which we will be investing in shortly.  Another thing to worry about.
My weight gain with this pregnancy has been crazy, 27lbs as of today crazy, so I've been trying to cut back on unhealthy snacks which is next to impossible when I'm married to the snackiest person alive.  He even wanted some of my cucumbers after the were peeled, sliced, and prepared of course:)
Alex sharing some fruit snacks with his Dad after his Sunday nap.
We went to a Fireside for our favorite Sister Missionary, Sister Olson.   Watch out Utah she's back and she is pretty amazing.
and another amazing Sister, Sister Harker that will be serving for another year.
